Nigel Farage left I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewers seething during Friday’s episode of the show after he told fellow campmate Josie Gibson to ‘shut up’.
The former politician, 59, snapped at This Morning host Josie, 38, after she spoke about a vote to bring in a new camp leader, when the stars of the show had been warned not to.
Former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, 31, was removed as camp leader during Friday’s episode after the campmates broke a number of rules.
However, Josie tried to draw Nigel into a conversation about the vote for the new leader, prompting him to tell her to ‘shut up’ as if more rules were broken the camp would have their Bushtucker Trial yellow stars taken away rather than being able to exchange them for food.
Moments earlier, Nigel read a laminate revealing they were to vote for a new camp leader: ‘There have been a number of rule breaks in camp.
‘As a result, Sam’s reign as leader will end. Any further rule breaks could result in the camp losing stars.’
Nigel continued: ‘The next leader of the group will be chosen by a secret ballot. One by one please make your way up to the Bush Telegraph to cast your vote.
‘As Sam has already been leader of the group, you cannot vote for him. When all the votes have been cast, the new leader will be announced.
‘You must not discuss or reveal who you want to be the leader until the results have been declared.’
Former boxer Tony Bellew, 41, said: ‘Don’t break these rules guys as we’re going to lose stars.’
Later Nigel counted the votes, and Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard, 48, and JLS singer Marvin Humes, 38, got two votes each, former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold, 31, Nigel and Josie got one vote each and YouTuber Nella Rose, 26, got three making her the new camp leader.
However, before the result was announced, Josie attempted to talk about the result, prompting Nigel’s outburst.
Taking to Twitter to express their shock, one person wrote: ‘Nigel telling Josie to shut up LEAVE RN.’
Someone else asked: ‘Did Nigel just sass national treasure Josie Gibson?’
‘Unsurprising behaviour from Nigel but he did notttt just talk to Josie like that,’ commented another viewer.
Another show fan demanded: ‘Put Nigel Farage on all the missions that’s no way to talk to Josie…’
While someone else asked: ‘Nigel actually opened his rat mouth and told our Josie to shut up??’
‘Nigel is actually so rude. Why did he tell Josie to shut up?’, wrote another viewer, while someone else remarked: ‘Why tf Nigel tell Josie to shut up?!’
Another stunned viewer wrote: ‘Is Nigel mad? Why is he talking to Josie like that?’
And someone else posted: ‘Not Nigel of ALL people Telling Josie to shut up. Idiot.’
It comes after chaos unfolded in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! camp during Friday’s episode after the campmates were exposed to a major health hazard.
Josie and Nella failed to pack the group’s pans away the evening before, leaving them exposed to critters.
Rodents invaded the camp and entered the pans as they could smell the food that had been cooked in them.
Sam, who was still camp leader at the time, demanded they be thoroughly washed in order to keep the celebrities fit and healthy, prompting Nick to volunteer for the job so they could use the pans for breakfast.
First Dates star Fred Sirieix, 51, explained in the Bush Telegraph: ‘Nella and Josie didn’t put the pans away in the box last night, so what happened, they were left outside and rodents came in and went inside the pans because they could smell the food.’
Camp leader Sam said: ‘Any pots and pans that were left out last night need to be re-washed.
‘Anything could crawl over it. It’s a health hazard.’
Nick volunteered: ‘I’ll go wash it then.’
Sam in the Bush Telegraph admitted: ‘I’m not very good at giving orders, I’m going to be honest with you. Had to do it, comes with the job title.
‘Nella and Josie, they’ve done a lot of washing up already, I made the executive decision, anyone that wants to do it, they can do it.
‘Nick actually took it because he’s a really good lad.’
