Nepo-babies are off to college and celebrity parents help on moving in day

The start of a new academic year isn’t just for the little ones heading to first grade – celebrity parents are sending their kids off to college too! While it’s not as common in Israel, across the pond, campuses are buzzing with parents helping their kids settle in.

Spotted over the weekend at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh: none other than Katie Holmes, helping her daughter Suri Cruise, 18, move in. The duo was seen lugging suitcases to the dorms and, somewhat surprisingly, daddy Cruise was a no-show.

According to the Daily Mail, Suri is all set for the full college experience with a roommate, and classes start next Monday, August 26. “Suri’s excited to dive into dorm life and start a new chapter,” they report. Holmes is now back in New York, probably feeling that empty nest vibe.

And Katie’s not alone in this emotional rollercoaster. Gwyneth Paltrow and hubby Brad Falchuk were also on move-in duty, dropping stepson Brody, 17, off at Yale University. Paltrow was caught on the sidewalk, looking all serious on the phone until Falchuk arrived with the car full of boxes. Bet she had to fend off other parents for that prime parking spot!

Brody’s not the only scholar in the family. Moses, Gwyneth’s son with ex Chris Martin, is heading to Brown University soon.

Seasoned pros Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld moved their youngest, Shepherd, 20, to Duke University last weekend. Jessica shared some family pics, reflecting on the transition: “Move-in weekend. All 3 baby birds have flown. Hope all of you first timers or last timers are holding up. #classof2028”
