Celebrities at ‘The Most Precious of Cargoes’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Here is a roundup from ‘The Most Precious of Cargoes’ premiere on the penultimate day of Cannes Film Festival.

I had very high hopes for Vicky Krieps, as I felt should be our Sandra Hüller for 2024, but her red carpet choices continue to baffle me.

Take this Armani Privé Spring 2024 look for example. While it’s beautifully made, it was a confusing and unflattering choice for the red carpet.

I can’t even get into the styling.

Mélanie Laurent made her annual appearance at Cannes wearing a sequined dress.

Maïmouna Doucouré, French-Senegalese movie director and member of the ‘Un Certain Regard’ Jury, was one of my favourites on this red carpet wearing a look from the Chanel Resort 2024 collection.

The short set was both refreshing and vibrant, but some might feel this was more of a photocall look than a premiere look.

I would wear this in a heartbeat.  With different shoes of course.

Léna Mahfouf is always great value on the red carpet as she loves to dress up, as showcased by this Vivienne Westwood pannier dress which I will guess hails from the label’s bridal collection.

Styled with white The Attico Cheope leather pumps, I think she could have sold the sex appeal without forcing a slit.

Emmanuelle Béart brought her signature nonchalant style to this red carpet wearing a Michael Kors Collection Fall 2023 look with the sequin coat being the hero piece.

When I think of Alexis Mabille, dramatic silhouettes spring to mind, but Bérénice Bejo’s red satin dress relied on elegant drapery.

This look needed a better necklace, or no necklace at all.

While I love the drama of the sculptural peplum and the contrast of the velvet corset, I wish the skirt on Ariadna Gutiérrez’s Stéphane Rolland Haute Fall 2023 Couture Traviata gown wasn’t sheer.

I’m not anti-sheer, but it kinda cheapens the look for me.
