On Monday (May 20), the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections is underway in 49 seats across six states and two union territories (UTs). Today, the voting is taking place in Mumbai, the main centre of the Indian Film Industry, and several B-Town celebrities stepped out to cast their votes.  Actor Akshay Kumar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sanya Malhotra were among the first celebrities to cast their votes in Mumbai.

On Monday (May 20), Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor stepped out early in the day to cast her vote. The Roohi star looked beautifull in a pink anarkali suit as she was captured walking out of the polling booth.

Akshay Kumar

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar cast his first vote since becoming an Indian citizen last year. The actor looked enthralled as he walked out of the polling booth and showed his inked finger. Interacting with the media, he said, “I want my India to be developed and strong. I voted, keeping that in mind. India should vote for what it deems right… I think voter turnout will be good (in Mumbai)…”

Sanya Malhotra

Actor Sanya Malhotra was among the first celebrities to cast her vote in Mumbai on Monday. The actress was snapped outside the polling booth.

Shahid Kapoor

After exercising his right, Shahid Kapoor shared a selfie of him showing his inked finger. In the caption, the actor wrote, ”Cast your vote. Every vote matters.” Dressed casually, The Kabir Singer star wore a white T-shirt and black trousers.

Farhan and Zoya Akhtar

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar along with his sister Zoya Akhtar and their mother Honey Irani was snapped outside of a polling station. After casting their votes, Farhan and Zoya shared their photos on their respective social media handles.

Sharing the selfie showing his inked finger, Farhan wrote, ”Come on Mumbai. Time to step up and do your duty as a citizen. Get involved and vote for the candidate you know is representing your values and concerns. The candidate who will address your issues and speak for you when the time comes.”
