Every NFL team adds its own twist to its annual schedule release videos. Social media teams, including the Green Bay Packers’, are becoming even more creative every year.
The Los Angeles Chargers have set the standard for incredible schedule release videos, but the Packers put together their best one yet on Wednesday night.
Green Bay’s schedule features one international game, four consecutive primetime contests, and back-to-back Thursday night matchups. It has several unique and challenging elements to it that will make life difficult for the Packers in the NFC North.
Fans awaited the official announcement of the schedule, and the Packers did it in style.
The Packers went above and beyond for this year’s schedule release video, bringing in the stars to help out. The video features Jordan Love, Jaire Alexander, Preston Smith, and Larry McCarren on a panel for Packers Pep Rally auditions.
That’s where the fun begins.
WWE Superstar Braun Strowman, rapper Lil Wayne, actor Cary Elwes, current and former Packers, including Elgton Jenkins and John Kuhn, and even ESPN reporter Rob Demovsky made appearances.
The video had very little to do with the schedule announcement until it was revealed at the end, but it didn’t matter. This was great.
There are so many amazing moments in this reveal. A personal highlight is Rob Demovsky’s attempt at kicking field goals.
Some teams take shots at their opponents, speak to members of the public, or find other creative ways to announce each game on the schedule. The Packers didn’t even care about their schedule release—this was a four-minute work of art without revealing a single game until the very end.
