New York Knicks fans are experiencing the most fun they’ve had in over a decade, perhaps two, as the team is the #2 in the Eastern Conference and has a genuine star at point guard in Jalen Brunson.
Unfortunately for Knicks fans, however, their joy isn’t coming without a little pain, as the team more or less blew what could have been the series-deciding Game 5 on Tuesday night, losing to the Sixers in overtime after having a six-point lead with 28 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter.
It wasn’t entirely a choke job from the Knicks, however, as budding 76ers star Tyrese Maxey hit two outrageous 3-pointers to send the game to overtime.
Maxey’s Reggie Miller-esque late-game explosion was so stunning, in fact, that it coaxed some truly hilarious reactions from the celebrities sitting courtside such as The Daily Show host Jon Stewart, comedian Tracy Morgan, and actor/director Ben Stiller.
“Respect to Maxey…but damn…I’m clearly getting too old for this s—…” Stewart captioned a photo of his stunned face on Twitter.
The reactions of Morgan and Stiller were a bit more visceral, however, as Morgan gave Maxey the mild finger, while a viral tweet has pointed out that Stiller looks like the epitome of “seething mad.”

Due to their 112-106 overtime loss in Game 5, the Knicks now find themselves in a bit of a precarious position as they had back to Philly for what will surely be an intense Game 6 in front of a rabid Philadelphia crowd who’s likely looking to avenge getting drowned out by Knicks fans in Game 4.
If the Sixers are able to make a comeback in the series against the Knicks and advance to the next round, Maxey’s 46-point performance will go from being incredible to legendary.
