Netflix ‘shelling out an eight-figure sum’ for new reality show featuring ‘unlikely British celebrities’

It will be hosted by Holly Willoughby

If you’re sick of watching the same old show each day, you’re going to want to check out what Netflix has in store for you.

With hopes of rivalling top contenders like Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, the streaming service is bringing out a competition series with Bear Grylls and Holly Willoughby.

The new show was announced last month.

Willoughby is set to host the action-packed show – which has been giving the working title Bear Hunt – that will see a group of British celebrities dropped into a Costa Rican jungle as Grylls hunts them down. If captured, they will be eliminated from the competition.

I’d certainly fail at the task of hiding from a man that would even drink his own wee just to survive.

Now, if you thought you’d be seeing the usual lineup which consists of little-known celebs, influencers and politicians, you’d be very wrong.

It’s been claimed that Netflix has a big plan for this show and that reportedly includes spending the big bucks to make it happen.

Holly Willoughby announced her participation on the show in an Instagram post.

Talking about the potential cast for the show, a TV insider told The Sun: “Netflix are determined their collection will be largely killer, with very little filler.

“They’re not scrimping on paying six-figure fees and aren’t afraid to cough up more for the biggest names.”

The insider claimed: “They’ll be shelling out an eight-figure sum in all, so the cast will be one of the most expensive in reality TV history.”

I mean, if I was being paid that much to run about in the Costa Rican wilderness, I’d probably give it a go and reward myself with… a mansion?

The show won’t be ready to watch until 2025.

But according to another source, Willoughby is ‘feeling guilty’ about this big project as it’ll take her away from her three children, Harry, 14, Belle, 12, and Chester, eight.

They said to OK!: “Holly will naturally miss her children and husband when she is away – she had lived in a lovely bubble with them while she took time off work. So it will be hard being away.

“Like so many mums, she feels that mum guilt as she tries to juggle family life with her TV career.”

However, the show won’t be ready to watch until 2025, so it’s a long way to go until we find out who Grylls will be hunting down.
