However, celebrity stylist Ellis Ranson has revealed the clever fashion tricks she’s used to help several famous faces hide their burgeoning bumps a little longer – including the likes of Kate Ferdinand, Dani Dyer and Ferne McCann.

The fashionista, who is always one of the first to know about a pregnancy, explains how she’ll sit down with the celebrity and discuss how long they want to keep it secret for and what events they’ll be attending during that time.

She goes on to say how mini skirts are blazers are always a safe go-to option because most of the time the legs will remain the same until later in the pregnancy, while blazers are boxy so a great way of concealing the bump.

Ellis points out that when Kate Ferdinand was keeping her pregnancy with her second baby Shae a secret last year, they opted for jumpers, long skirts and on-trend trench coats.

“We pulled in the outfits at the smallest part of her waist to create an illusion,” she says, speaking to The Express.

“Anything that goes in at the waist and then out is ideal. You can even still show skin when adopting this method.”

Love Island winner Dani Dyer is another of Ellis’ famous clients, and turned to her when she fell pregnant with twins Summer and Star with footballer Jarrod Bowen in May last year.

‘Dani is very petite and was expecting twins so she posed a challenge,” the fashion whizz admits.

“High-waisted skirts were a style we loved using together.’

Amongst Ellis’ top tips include opting for dark colours because they’ll hide whatever you’re trying to cover by inadvertently directing your attention the what’s on show instead – including the hands and feet.

Frankie Bridge’s £35 River Island ballet pumps are an almost identical dupe for Miu Miu’s luxury version – but they’re a whopping £1.2k cheaper

She also recommends patterns and trendy baggy jeans, but warns that a neutral colour palette and tight-fitting garments will likely draw the eye to a growing bump.

Meanwhile, reality star Ferne McCann welcomed son Finty in July with her partner Lorri Haines.

During her early pregnancy, she enjoyed wearing loungewear, but according to Ellis, this changed as soon as the secret was out in the open.

She notes that unlike in previous years, an increasing number of celebrities are enjoying showing off their bumps thanks to “creative, and over-the-top options.”
