RAPID CITY, S.D. – Through the week of the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo there are many showmanship events. On Monday evening the showmanship featured a slight different group of participants and animals.
Local Rapid City “celebrities” took to the arena in the Monument’s Barnett Fieldhouse to showcase some unique animals from the petting zoo. Participants took turns leading animals such as a llama, an alpaca, a zebra and some very stubborn calves.
One of the participants was NewsCenter1’s own Anna Hamelin who took turns showing one of the aforementioned llamas and stubborn calves. Pennington County State’s Attorney Lara Roetzel, Rapid City Alderman Kevin Maher, Monument Health Foundation Director Hans Nelson, United Way of the Black Hills Executive Director John Cass, Western Dakota Tech President Ann Bolman, 2023 Ms. Veteran America Second Runner-Up Jennifer Rollins and several others participated in the event.
