On Monday, January 15, the 2024 Emmy Awards kicked off at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Hosted by actor and comedian Anthony Anderson, the 75th annual ceremony honored the year’s best television (the 2023 Emmys were postponed to last night, so many of the categories reflect last year’s best series, too). Honorees included some of the year’s buzziest series, such as The Crown, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Succession, and Yellowjackets. And the best part? The shows’ leading stars were all in attendance on the Emmys 2024 red carpet—we saw A-listers like Rachel Brosnahan, Quinta Brunson, Bella Ramsey, Pedro Pascal, and Jeremy Allen White.
Before the trophies were handed out on stage, the star-studded step and repeat was a fashion spectacle. After all, the Emmys have a history of producing glamorous gowns and sleek suits that enter our collective consciousness. Remember Chloë Sevigny’s chic Isaac Mizrahi one-shouldered gown from 2009, or Sarah Paulson’s green bejeweled Prada number from 2016? More recently, the 2021 Emmys produced striking style moments too, such as Michaela Coel in her neon-bright Christopher John Rogers column dress, and Emma Corrin in their pale yellow Miu Miu look complete with opera gloves and, of all things, bonnet.
