Nerd Con celebrities enjoy the show

Marc Price, left, and Keith Coogan were two of the featured guests at the recent Nerd Con event, held Saturday in Mont Belvieu at the Eagle Pointe Recreation Center. Price is known for his role as Skippy in the 1980s sitcom “Family Ties,” which starred Michael J. Fox.  Coogan, the grandson of Jackie Coogan of “The Addams Family” fame, was in “Adventures in Babysitting” with Elizabeth Shue and Vincent D’Onofrio. John Morris  of “Toy Story” was also on hand to meet with fans, take photos and sign autographs. Mont Belvieu’s Lauren Harpe, who starred in Season 44 of CBS’ “Survivor,” also attended. This was the fifth year of the con in Mont Belvieu. Many comic book fans attend as do many of those seeking artworks, collectibles, or just come to cosplay as their favorite characters. The event is co-directed by Jerry Jacob Shafer and James Chris Chisum. Shafer said about 1,700 attend the event this year.
