German Celebrity Big Brother model attacked by monkeys on Thai beach

This is the moment a screaming German model was attacked by enraged monkeys on a Thai beach leaving her ‘afraid for her life’.

Video shows an infant monkey clinging to the arm of Emmy Russ, 24, on a beach in the Phi Phi Islands before its mother lunges at her legs.

A terrified Russ, who starred on Germany‘s version of Celebrity Big Brother, sustained a series of bites and was left hospitalised and needing urgent vaccinations for rabies.

Video shows the bikini-wearing model,  who has a Russian mother and currently lives in Spain, stroking a baby monkey at the aptly named Monkey Beach while on a holiday boat trip.

But the animal clings onto her arm and apparently sinks its fangs into her skin.

Seconds later, an adult primate – seemingly the baby’s mother – runs up to the model and bites her knee area.

According to the model, who has appeared in several reality TV shows in Germany and Spain, including Celebrity Big Brother, she suffered four bite wounds.

She immediately went to a local health centre to have the wounds cleaned and treated.

However, she has been left fearing for her life after the attack.

Emmy explained: ‘I hadn’t received any shots for rabies or tetanus, so I’ve now had the tetanus shot and I will receive a total of five rabies jabs with three still to go.’

She said she is also taking nine tablets a day to combat the infection.

The model said she was suffering from nausea and only leaves her hotel room to have breakfast.

She has been left feeling so low she now apparently regrets going on the holiday.

Emmy said: ‘If I had known what was going to happen, I would have stayed away.

‘I’ll probably end the holiday early.

‘At the moment, I have to say that I am afraid for my life.

‘I would rather get treated in Madrid.’

She added: ‘Luckily, my health insurance is covering everything.’

Emmy, who has more than 250,000 followers on Instagram, is a household name in Germany, having appeared on several reality TV shows. 

In 2020, she took part in the eight season of the country’s version of Celebrity Big Brothers. Within a day of her appearing, she was described as ‘riotous’ and ‘outrageous.’

Before then, she appeared on reality TV show ‘Beauty and the Nerd’, a show that attempted to pair up two groups of young single people, one of which is made up of ‘beauties’, defined by their appearance and interest in fashion, and the other being seen as more socially awkward and with little experience with the opposite sex. 

German tabloids took to calling her ‘Remmidemmi Emmy’, referring to the German word meaning ‘commotion’, ‘racket’, or ‘noise.’
