I’m a Celebrity’s Josie Gibson rushed to hospital after show stint

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Josie Gibson has revealed she felt unwell on the flight back from the jungle.

Speaking about her experience on this year’s show, which was eventually won by Made in Chelsea‘s Sam Thompson, Gibson explained she started feeling “really unwell” on her way back to the UK.

“I will just say the jungle was an adventure and I was glad I did it, but when I was on the flight coming home, I started to feel really unwell and shivering,” she said during an appearance on Loose Women on December 21.

Gibson said she was taken to the hospital with a “severe tonsillitis”.

“When I got back, I had severe tonsillitis and I couldn’t breathe and got taken to hospital on Friday and they put me on a drip and gave me lots of steroids to bring the swelling down so I could breathe again,” she said.

The presenter then said that her return as co-host of This Morning wasn’t a given after her health scare.

“It was a bit touch and go on whether I could make This Morning, so I just want to thank everybody that works at the RUH in Bath,” she said.

“Without them I wouldn’t have been able to do This Morning and they really took care of me so thank you. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses.”

Gibson was the last woman standing amongst this year’s campmates on I’m a Celebrity, finishing fourth and being voted out on day 21 in the jungle.

Former politician Nigel Farage was eliminated next, finishing third on this season, with boxer Tony Bellew being the runner-up.
