Ray J makes startling claim about celebrities involved in Diddy’s scandal

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Ray J claims he has been contacted by a number of “A-list” celebrities regarding their connection to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex crimes.

He also claimed that since Diddy’s September 16 arrest, celebrities have been paying off victims so that they would not be pulled into the trial or lawsuits against the rap mogul, 55.

The 43-year-old R&B singer spoke to TMZ’s Harvey Levin for the publication’s documentary, The Downfall of Diddy: Inside the Freak-Offs — during which he made several bombshell claims about the stars allegedly involved in Diddy’s “freak-offs.”

“People do catch and kills all day. Somebody has the truth, somebody pays you to keep it quiet and hopefully that money that you got paid secures your happiness while you watch the lie continue to succeed,” the “I Hit It First” artist alleged.

Ray J says he’s been hearing about these “catch and kills” happening as celebrities try to “keep their names out of” the legal trouble surrounding Combs, who was arrested on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The disgraced rapper, who has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges against him, is also facing sexual assault lawsuits from more than 100 accusers made up of men, women, and minors. His legal team vehemently denied all allegations last month, stating that the Bad Boy mogul “has never sexually assaulted anyone — adult or minor, man or woman.”

Levin, 74, asked Ray J if he was suggesting that celebrities paying off victims is “going on now,” and he simply responded, “Yes.” Then he claimed stars were reaching out to him to talk about their experiences, now that details of Diddy’s alleged crimes have come to light.

“They want to talk to me about what happened to them. They call me. They feel like they can trust me. They want to tell me about certain things that happened with them and Diddy,” Ray J alleged. Levin pressed Ray J, asking to clarify why he thinks these stars are reaching out to him specifically.

“Are these high-profile people calling you because they’ve had some affiliation with Diddy that they don’t want to come out, and they think you might be the vessel for it coming out?” Levin asked, and Ray J responded, “Exactly.”

That moment of clarity seemed to frighten the singer, who said, “I don’t even know why I just said it, but I said it,” adding, “So what? They’re gonna be mad. Come get me.” However, he reportedly shut down after that, refusing to say what these stars allegedly “did with” Diddy, maintaining that he had already “said too much.”

This news comes after Ray J took to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, November 12 to say that he had survived an alleged shooting. In the video, saved by The Shade Room on Instagram, the musical artist can be seen saying, “They tried to kill me, and you want me to apologize? F*** you.”

Back on October 29, it was reported that Ray J had gotten into a fight with Diddy’s sons, Christian, 26, Quincy, 33, and Justin, 30, outside of a Halloween party. Ray J was reportedly confronted by the Bad Boy Records founder’s sons as he left the party due to public comments he has made since Diddy’s arrest.

Sources claimed Christian and Justin seemed ready to fight, but Chris Brown, who was in a nearby car, rushed out to stop the fight, with help from Ray J’s manager, David Weintraub.
