Billy Baldwin and wife Chynna Phillips reveal they live in separate homes and cities: We have ‘allergies to each other’

Billy Baldwin and his wife, Chynna Phillips, think they’ve solved the puzzle of maintaining a healthy and happy marriage — and the secret is living apart.

The couple is gearing up to celebrate their 30-year wedding anniversary in 2025 and got personal about their unconventional living situation, revealing that not only do they shack up in separate houses, but they stay in different area codes.

The Wilson Phillips singer, 56, went into detail on their housing situation in a video posted to her YouTube channel on Sunday, Nov. 3.

“Billy and I are sort of in this new kind of arrangement that is actually really working for me. I don’t know if it’s working for Billster, but I’m really happy with what we’re doing,” Phillips joked. “Basically, it’s totally unstructured … let me explain.”

She continued, “I said to Billy, ‘Look, why don’t we just do a little test run to see what it feels like to have me in Santa Barbara, you in Beverly Hills, and then we flip-flop. Then in between, we have date nights together, we have therapy, we have dinner with the children and we go to the beach or the museum.”

For reference, Santa Barbara is roughly 100 miles from Beverly Hills and over a two-hour drive without traffic.

Baldwin, 61, and Phillips said “I do” in 1995. The pair share three children: daughters Jameson, 24, and Brooke, 19, and son Vance, 22.

The “Hold On” singer shared that while the married duo “have sleepovers and stuff,” they aren’t “forcing ourselves to be subjected to each other’s energy 24/7.”

Phillips revealed that Baldwin “is a bit more reticent about the whole thing,” but he was willing to give their separate living situation a try.

Later in the video, she calls her husband, who appears on the screen via FaceTime.

“I think that we’re onto something,” Phillips told Baldwin in the footage. “I really do, because we enjoy each other’s company. It’s so hard to articulate to people that we’re madly in love, we really enjoy being around one another, we cherish our marriage, we don’t ever want to separate. We just need a little time apart because we are sort of an allergy to one another. And it’s okay. I’m sure lots of different couples are allergies to each other.”

Baldwin didn’t necessarily agree, telling her, “The reality is you have the allergy, I have a certain energy that makes you have a — see your back just tweaked just now.” He added, “You do things that, you know, sort of alter my energy sometimes.”

Phillips also joked about the Ten Commandments, laughing that she’ll “submit” to her husband when she’s around.

“Where in the Bible does it say that I have to live under the same roof 24/7 with my husband? Can you please find me that scripture?” she asked. “I mean, I have to take care of him, I have to be kind to him, I have to be gentle to him. I have to obey him or,  what is the word, submit.”

She adds, “I will submit when I’m around.”

They have been open about the struggles in their union, revealing earlier this year that they separated for six months after having a “rough heart to heart together.”

In March, The Post obtained photos of Baldwin and Phillips appearing to be locked in a heated conversation.

Despite the ups and downs, Phillips credited open communication and faith for weathering them through the storm.

“The Christianity aspect has been sort of a glaring issue for a while because [religion] has sort of overtaken my life in many ways. It has perhaps even made you question whether you and I can really make it in the long run,” she said to Baldwin in a separate video shared in February.

Baldwin responded, “But I still absolutely love you, absolutely adore you, and completely support you. That’s why I’m sitting here now. That’s why we go to church together. That’s why we pray together. That’s why we talk about faith together, That’s why I do this stuff for you … It’s because I’m a supportive, loving husband who adores his wife and wants to spend the rest of my life with you, no question.”
