The NFL season is in full swing, but Travis Kelce is pulling double duty as a football player and TV host this fall.
Kelce stars as the host of MGM’s “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” streaming now on Prime Video. Based on the long-running game show, “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” (hosted by Jeff Foxworthy) the new series features a “classroom” of athletes, actors and musicians, who will attempt to help contestants win a $100,000 prize.
Season 1 premieres October 16, with a 20-episode order. The show is a Prime Video exclusive, which means the only way to watch “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity” is by streaming it online. Amazon Prime members can stream the show for free here.

In addition to Kelce as host, the “Are You Smarter” spinoff stars Garcelle Beauvais, Nicole Byer, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ron Funches, Nikki Glaser, Lala Kent, Natasha Leggero, Chad Ochocinco, Lilly Singh and Sophia Stallone as part of the celebrity panel. While fans were no doubt hoping for a Taylor Swift appearance, producers say Kelce won’t be mixing his business and personal life — at least not for now.
The new version of the game show will quiz contestants on elementary school subjects ranging from science to geography to math. Like the original show, producers for the spinoff say the questions were pulled directly from elementary curriculum textbooks.
Contestants must answer 11 questions in an attempt to win the $100,000 cash prize. If they need help, they can consult the “expert” celebrity panel. The final question is always at the 6th-grade level.
Kelce filmed the show over the summer, fresh off his victory at Super Bowl LVIII. “Are You Smarter” marks the Chiefs tight end’s first hosting role, and one of his first major television roles (Kelce is currently also starring in the new Ryan Murphy series “Grotesquerie”). Amazon says the series will premiere on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
“I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” Kelce says in a statement. “The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining. I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up.”

Hasbro Gaming ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’ Board Game
You can also buy the official board game online, with 650 questions ranging from first grade to 5th grade level. Like the TV show, players must answer questions correctly to win money and advance to the next round. The twist: in this board game, you’re allowed to peek or copy another person’s answer… not that it’s necessarily the correct one.
