Al Pacino opens up with candid details of near-death experience: ‘There’s nothing there’

Al Pacino is getting candid about a particularly scary moment while suffering from COVID-19.

The “Godfather” actor, 84, shared that he had a near-death experience where his heart stopped — and paramedics had to bring him back to life.

Pacino told The New York Times in an interview published Saturday that he was “sitting there in my house and I was gone” after falling unconscious while battling the virus at an undisclosed time.

“I didn’t have a pulse,” he recalled. “In a matter of minutes they were there — the ambulance in front of my house. I had about six paramedics in that living room, and there were two doctors, and they had these outfits on that looked like they were from outer space or something.”

The Oscar winner had one of his employees bring over a nurse after he started to feel “unusually not good.”

Pacino’s symptoms included having a fever and being dehydrated before suddenly losing consciousness.

“I didn’t see the white light or anything,” he continued. “There’s nothing there. ‘I’d never thought about it in my life. But you know actors: It sounds good to say I died once. What is it when there’s no more?”

Despite the life-altering experience, the “Scarface” alum finds solace in having his children, Julie, 34, 23-year-old twins Anton and Olivia and his son, Roman, born in 2023, as “consolation” and his extensive body of work as his legacy.

Pacino admitted that he isn’t scared of death as you get a “different view of death as you get older.”

As he put it, “It’s just the way it is.”

“I didn’t ask for it. Just comes, like a lot of things just come,” admitted Pacino before adding he doesn’t find the topic of death “morbid.”

The Hollywood star also took a moment to reflect on his decades-long career, explaining to the outlet that making movies in his younger years was more fulfilling.

“Usually when I make films, I’m not very happy,” revealed Pacino. “They can be tedious, but you can go to your camper and do whatever you want.”

And in his trailer, there is plenty to keep Pacino occupied.

“There’s so many things on YouTube,” he shared. “’I even like TikTok when I see it.”

There is one of his films in particular he would love baby Roman, who he shares with girlfriend Noor Alfallah, 30, to watch first.

“Jack and Jill” with Adam Sandler as it’s “funny.” according to Pacino.

“It came at a time in my life that I needed it, because it was after I found out I had no more money. My accountant was in prison, and I needed something quickly. So I took this,” he continued.

Pacino’s former financial advisor, Kenneth Starr, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison back in 2010, after pleading guilty to taking $33 million from his clients to fund his lavish lifestyle.

The disgraced moneyman’s shenanigans left Pacino on the hook with the IRS for a whopping $188,000 in back taxes, it was reported.
