The early critical response to Prada’s Spring 2025 show, held today in Milan, is that it was the most unusual Prada show in some time—in a good way.
Models wore buggy accessories, from Spiderman-style glasses to hats with circular cutouts, reminiscent of multiple eyes. Trompe l’oeil belts featured on the hips of pants and a trompe l’oeil fur collar trimmed an otherwise classic jacket. What looked like carabiner clips attached low rise skirts to hip-height belts and many of the models wore no pants at all, instead sporting knit tights, leotards, or the tiniest of mini shorts. The show stood out, combining the classic with the eccentric.
And, as expected, co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons brought out an all-star crowd, all in Prada, of course. Carrie Mulligan arrived in a chic skirt suit, with oversized pockets at the hips and a white Prada logo belt cinching her waist. She paired the outfit with dark sunglasses, black pointed toe pumps, and Prada’s Galleria bag also in black.
Sarah Paulson also opted for one of Prada’s structured blazers, though hers was in gray with a subtle plaid print. Adding some color, she wore a bright yellow knit underneath the jacket. She paired it with a long, gray skirt, lavender pointed toe kitten heels, and the designer’s rectangular triangle logo sunglasses. She carried one of Prada’s re-edition purses, a nylon bucket bag from 1978.
Bridgerton star Simone Ashley, who also attended a few London Fashion Week events, ventured to Milan to see the Prada show. She chose a girlier look compared to Mulligan and Paulson, wearing a short, empire waisted dress with blue and white daisies trimming the straps. She accessorized with oval sunglasses, pointed toe slingback pumps, and the brand’s iconic Cleo bag, all in black.
Also at the show was social media star Charli D’Amelio, wearing a fully zipped leather biker jacket, a wool trumpet skirt hitting at her ankle, and lavender pointed toe heels and sunglasses. She carried the gray Prada buckle handbag, with a belt echoing some of the trompe l’oeil ones in the Spring 2025 show.
And finally, the celebrities that caused the biggest stir at the show were the K-Pop stars, for whom crowds of fans gathered outside. The South Korean boy band Enhyphen sported some of Prada’s menswear—leather bombers, oversized blazers, wool coats. And Karina, of the South Korean girl group Aespa, wore an empire waist dress—similar to Ashley’s—and Prada’s bold, black satin, platform sandals.
