Alfonso Ribeiro shows off 20-pound weight loss on ‘DWTS’ Season 33 premiere

Alfonso Ribeiro is waltzing into Season 33 a new man.

The “Dancing With the Stars” host showed off his 20-pound weight loss on Tuesday’s season premiere of the competition show.

Last month, the 52-year-old told People, “I know that it’s going to be a tight season and we are gonna have some fun. It’s gonna be great and the dancing will be better than ever.”

“And I’ve lost 20 pounds, so now I’m like, ‘Oh, I think I might look a little better when they ask me to do some of the little dances in the opening numbers.’ So you know, I am ready to rock,” the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” actor added. He added, “It should be a fantastic season.”

Ribeiro didn’t divulge too many details about his exact lifestyle changes but has been vocal about his wife Angela Unkrich’s passion for healthy eating, which she shares on Instagram, in the past.

The “DWTS” champion revealed on the “Tamron Hall Show” last October that his family changed their diet eight years after “a health situation with one of my kids…my little dude.”

Ribeiro noted, “He had a health issue and we learned how to feed him.”

“We live a completely non-toxic life where we don’t eat any sugar, gluten-free, corn-free, dairy-free, oats-free, anything that makes you swollen, we typically stay away from,” he explained.

Not only is Ribeiro hosting the ABC dance show all season long, but “America’s Funniest Home Videos” is set to premiere its milestone 35th season on Sept. 29.

The “AFV” host admitted, “It is a lot of work to do two shows at once.”

“But you know, they are two shows that I absolutely adore and love, and couldn’t be more proud to be a part of,” he continued to People. “Obviously, with ‘AFV’ coming back, this is their 35th season [and] my 10th season as the host. Thisis going to be special and I am excited to get back to the laughter and the fun.”

Ribeiro is co-hosting “DWTS” alongside Julianne Hough. The star-studded cast includes Eric Roberts, model Brooks Nader, “Family Matters” actor Reginald VelJohnson, “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum Tori Spelling, former Bachelor Nation stars Jenn Tran and Joey Graziadei, NBA star Dwight Howard, Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, phony heiress Anna Delvey and more.
