A horde of celebrities join the monsters at Creep I.E. Aftermath in Ontario

With the goal of combining horror and pop culture, Creep I.E. Aftermath returns to the Ontario Convention Center Sept. 20-22. But the horde of celebrities set to appear may just overtake the monsters and ghouls coming to the weekend event.

About 10,000 people are expected to attend Creep I.E. Aftermath, the sister event to the annual Creep I.E. Con. The convention will include a walk- through haunt by Fear Farm, live music, panel discussions, vendors, a cosplay competition and afterparties, plus a Lucha Libre wrestling competition. But since it has a focus on pop culture, the Creep I.E.  Aftermath boasts a who’s who list of celebrities on the guest list.

“We always pride ourselves on our celebrity roster every year,” said Brian Boget, the event’s co-producer.

On the lineup this year is a reunion of “E.T.” cast members that includes the lovable alien’s best friend Henry Thomas, who portrayed Elliot Taylor in the film. Other cast members set to appear are Dee Wallace, who played Elliot’s mom, Robert MacNaughton, who was Elliott’s brother Michael, plus some of his bike riding buddies like C. Thomas Howell as well the alien himself, Matthew De Meritt, who actually played E.T.

“This is one of the greatest movies of all time,” Boget said. “They’ll be signing autographs all weekend, doing photo ops and even a cast reunion photo op,” he added. The cast will also appear on a panel.

And from alien fantasy to pure bloody horror, the convention will feature a cast reunion from the “Terrifier” franchise, which has gained a cult following since the first film’s release in 2016.

Members of the cast set to appear at the convention shortly before the release of the franchise’s third film include David Howard Thornton, who has earned praise for this portrayal of Art the Clown, plus Damien Leone, the director, producer and writer of the films, and Amelie Maclain, who played the terrifying little girl clown in the sequel and others.

“Art the Clown will be in full costume and make for photo ops and Damien Leone will actually be doing the makeup,” Boget said.

The third film is set to be released a couple of weeks after the convention.

Other celebrities on the guest list include Hollywood star Juliette Lewis, Billy Dee Williams of the Star Wars films, JD Pardo, Emilio Rivera and Michael Irby for the “Mayans” TV show, Billy Zane from films such  as “Titanic” and “Demon Knight,” Jason Patrick from “The Lost Boys,” and Ethan Suplee, whose name may not be instantly recognizable but whose face you’ll instantly remember from shows like “My Name is Earl,” and “American History X.”
