Swifties for Trump are being bashed, bullied by lefty fans who say singer would ‘hate’ them

There is some Bad Blood leading up to this election.

Taylor Swift fans who are voting for Trump are being denounced by her lefty fans, who say the singer would “hate” them for their political preference.

Jenna Piwowarczyk, the college student wearing a Swifties for Trump T-shirt in Trump’s Truth Social post, said she was criticized after posting a TikTok video about the Swifties for Trump movement, which she is now the face of.

“I got literally thousands of comments telling me Taylor would hate me, telling me I’m a betrayer, I’m a traitor,” she told The Post.

“But I also got some backlash from conservatives as well. Because they know Taylor Swift is liberal and a lot of them don’t like the message that she gives to young girls.”

Piwowarczyk, 19, whose TikTok post got 216,000 views, said the Swifties for Trump movement gained momentum after Trump’s post, which garnered 10,100 likes from some of his 7.63 million followers.

“He posted two pictures of me wearing my Swifties for Trump shirt,” said the political science major at Concordia University in Mequon, WI. “My picture was blowing up and this movement started becoming a thing two weeks ago.

“People come up to me . . . people are calling me, DMing me, telling me, ‘Listen, I love Taylor Swift. I was scared to admit that I might be interested in Republicanism, but you’ve encouraged me to dig deeper into that and I’m going to be voting for Trump.”

She was contacted by the creator of the Swifties for Trump X account, who “asked me if I could be the face of the movement because her job won’t allow her to partake in that stuff,” Piwowarczyk explained.

The creator of the Swifties for Trump X account, who wished to remain anonymous, said she’s gotten her fair share of critiques on the social media handle, which she created in July and now has 18,800 followers.

“Honestly, they aren’t very creative. Most just tell us that Taylor would hate us or that we shouldn’t be able to call ourselves Swifties if we support Trump. We’re also accused of being bots or buying followers. I assure you neither are true,” she said.

“We’ve been, jokingly, accused of being @catturd2 [Right-wing X personality Phillip Buchanan] or Barron Trump incognito. Those were my personal favorites.”

Alexis Winters of Whitestone, Queens, said she’s seen Trump supporters get bashed in Swiftie social media groups by anti-Trumpers who deliver tirades and conduct extensive investigations.

“It’s crazy,” said Winters, 24. “They’ll go on rants about it and post whole Twitter threads being like, ‘This person supports Trump because they liked this post back in 2016 about this.’”

“I’ve had people say, ‘Oh, you’re voting for Trump, how could you be a Swiftie?’” said Ashley DiFonzo of Missouri. Courtesy of Ashley DiFonzo

Springfield, MO resident Ashley DiFonzo also has to put up with judgment from liberal fans.

“I’ve had people say, ‘Oh, you’re voting for Trump, how could you be a Swiftie?’” said DiFonzo, 27.

“I think it’s ridiculous to say just because you’re a fan of blank, you can’t vote for blank. I don’t see that logic.”

Swiftie Melissa Dudley, who lives in Hinesville, GA, has two daughters, “one, a Republican like me, and one, a very liberal Democrat.”

“My daughter who is Swiftie and a Democrat would say if Taylor knew her fans were voting for Trump she would not be happy,” Dudley, 49, said. “She believes Taylor is so passionate about her political stand that she thinks her fans should vote Democratic.”

Swift, who hasn’t endorsed any presidential candidate this year, made her liberal-leaning voice heard in the 2020 election, when she spoke out against Trump on X, saying, “After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?”

DiFonzo said she was disappointed in Swift’s anti-Trump post.

“I just think it’s feeding misinformation,” she said.

Months later, Swift took to Instagram to say she was voting for Biden.

“Most just tell us that Taylor would hate us or that we shouldn’t be able to call ourselves Swifties if we support Trump. We’re also accused of being bots or buying followers. I assure you neither are true,” said the creator of the Swifties for Trump X account.

“I wasn’t surprised, to be honest, a lot of celebrities, they live in their own little world. They’re not the rest of us who have to worry about if we can afford rent or groceries or gas and the implications of who’s president,” DiFonzo said.

Winters said Swift’s political posts leading up to the 2020 election was when she “started to get more turned off towards her.”

“Obviously, I’m still a huge fan of hers . . . but I don’t idolize her in the same way that I used to,” she said.

“And it’s not even because she tends to be more on the left — I think everyone is entitled to have their own opinion — it’s that she feels that it’s her duty to preach this to her young fans.”
