How Jeremy Allen White is preparing to play Bruce Springsteen — with The Boss’ help

The star of “The Bear” is getting ready to play The Boss.

Jeremy Allen White, who plays Carmen Berzatto on the popular FX series, will take on the challenging role of Bruce Springsteen in the new movie “Deliver Me From Nowhere.”

And, the 33-year-old Emmy winner told GQ, he’s gotten a bit of help from Bruce, himself.

“I’ve had some access to him and he’s just the greatest guy,” White said in a story accompanied by steamy photos from his latest Calvin Klein underwear campaign. “I’m also really lucky [that] Bruce is really supportive of the film.”

Back in July, the actor told Variety he and Springsteen had “texted and emailed” and were hoping to meet in person at his London concert at Wembley Stadium that month.

White, a native Brooklynite, is also doing his own singing as the “Dancing in the Dark” rocker from New Jersey.

“I’m really lucky that there’s sort of a team of folks now in place to help young actors portray rock stars,” he told GQ.

“I’ve got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing.”

White has also been prepping by binging every clip he can find.

“It’s really great to go down a YouTube rabbit hole and find him at all these different periods in his life and be able to listen to his speaking voice as well as his singing voice,” he said.

“That’s kind of been the deal, just listening to him a lot and watching him a lot. It’s been really fun preparing.”

Rather than a full-fledged biopic, a la “Elvis,” “Deliver Me From Nowhere” will be about Springsteen recording “Nebraska,” the follow-up to 1980’s “The River,” when he was 33 years old — the same age as White.

The actor and The Boss have other similarities, White says.

“Bruce Springsteen is — I mean this in the very best way — he’s a guy,” White told the glossy.

“He’s a jeans and T-shirt kind of guy. It was exciting to know going into this thing that we had at least that in common.”
