The 6th anniversary soirée of This Is About Humanity (TIAH), presented by LIBI Mx, was a glamorous affair with a heartfelt purpose. Held at the beautiful home of Stacey and Henry Winkler, the event supported TIAH’s initiatives, including a collective food-relief kitchen with Fundación Tijuana Sin Hambre and ICF, which provides hot meals to vulnerable communities at the Tijuana/US border region. The soirée also highlighted the Immigrant Defenders Law Center’s pro bono legal representation efforts and the TIAH Binational Fund for ICF.
The evening was a culinary celebration curated by Mexico’s Michelin-star chef Javier Plascencia, featuring an impressive lineup that included 3 Michelin-star chef Dominique Crenn, 2 Michelin-star chef Josiah Citrin, Michelin-star Oscar Torres, and more. The soirée also recognized Florence Azria for her remarkable generosity in supporting TIAH’s food relief efforts, which serve over one million meals annually.
Lauren Sánchez wore a McQueen Shadow Rose-print leather strapless dress.
I know what you are thinking, the silk version of this dress from the Spring 2024 runway would have been a refreshing change from the rather predictable leather option she chose. The only surprising element of Lauren’s look was the length of the dress.
Eva Longoria kept her look understated in a white V-neck dress, which she paired with a black waistband that matched her ankle-strap sandals perfectly. This was simple to ensure the highlight of the occasion was the true spirit of the cause.
Jordana Brewster, on the other hand, chose an eye-catching orange dress that was impossible to miss. The bold colour wasn’t the only standout feature—the Gucci motif woven into the lace added a unique touch. While the white-trimmed neckline brought a fresh appeal, I’m not entirely sold on her choice of nude Gucci platform heels. They seemed a bit mismatched with the overall look.
MJ Rodriguez was the epitome of glamour and drama in a chiffon printed Roberto Cavalli gown, capturing everyone’s attention with her stunning ensemble.
Julianne Hough also embraced an unexpected choice with her summer velvet two-piece look. While velvet might seem a bit heavy for the season, the outfit’s breathable design earned a pass from me.
This Is About Humanity 6th anniversary soirée was a powerful reminder of the impact that generosity and community support can have on vulnerable populations.
