Although Blake Lively may have met her husband, Ryan Reynolds, while filming her superhero film, Green Lantern, she has a history of butting heads with her costars.
From her days starring as heiress Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl to the rumored rift between her and her It Ends with Us costar, Justin Baldoni, the 36-year-old actress has been dragged into a number of on-set clashes.
Despite her reputation as a supportive friend to her longtime BFF, Taylor Swift, and a loving mother to four kids, all under age nine, the Los Angeles native is under fire for seemingly feuding with a large number of her costars over the years.
Lively became a bona fide star following the premiere of Gossip Girl, just two years after her breakthrough role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005.
In the wake of all the behind-the-scenes drama between her and Baldoni, 40, DailyMail.com rounded up all of Lively’s rumored spats.
Like their beloved characters, Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf, Lively and her costar, Leighton Meester, had a frosty relationship off-screen.
Although they played best friends for for six seasons, between 2007 to 2012, the duo reportedly clashed over their different personalities and priorities.
In 2017, the show’s executive producer, Joshua Safran, confirmed to Vanity Fair that the women, who don’t follow each other on social media, ‘were not friends.’
‘They were friendly, but they were not friends like Serena and Blair,’ he told the outlet.
The producer noted that any tension among the actresses was not rooted in any significant conflicts.
‘Blake is very much in the moment,’ Safran explained. ‘Blake knows what’s happening. You talk to Blake on a very contemporary level, and she would be like, “I’m doing this thing tonight. Have you been to this restaurant?”‘
In contrast, he described Meester, 38, as ‘very removed and very quiet.’
After her scenes, Safran recalled how Meester would ‘wander the stage.’
The revelation came after years of rumors on a behind-the-scenes feud between the pair, who reportedly ‘avoided each other like the plague’ on set.
The drama was said to be so intense that, according to a 2008 article in New York Magazine, that their castmates felt like they had to ‘choose sides’ at the time.
Armie Hammer’s stint as Lively’s love interest, Gabriel Edwards, did not last long as he was fired after they got into an alleged altercation while filming season two of Gossip Girl.
According to the Instagram page, DeuxMoi, which shares unsubstantiated rumours and gossip, Hammer, 37, called Lively an ‘an insufferable b**ch’ during a dinner scene in front of ‘the whole’ cast, which led to him getting axed from the show.
In 2017 while appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Hammer seemed to address his controversial departure from The CW’s hit drama.
When asked who was the ‘biggest diva’ on Gossip Girl, the actor looked nervous as he attempted to remain diplomatic.
‘Let me just say that was a tough show to film and I didn’t end up actually filming all the episodes I was supposed to because it was so tough,’ he divulged.
Host Andy Cohen, then pressed: ‘Oh really? So you were like, “Get me out of this?”‘
‘It was also like ‘Get him out of here,’ the father-of-two retorted.
After revealing Lively was his on-screen girlfriend on the show, Chelsea Handler speculated that it sounded ‘like she was the problem.’
‘No, no, that’s not what I’m saying,’ he stated with a smirk, which raised eyebrows among viewers,
From the start of filming their 2018 thriller, A Simple Favor, Lively and Kendrick were at the center of feud rumors.
According to In Touch, tension between the women stemmed from Kendrick making fun of the Green Lantern star’s best friend, Taylor Swift.
Back in 2016, Kendrick told Net-A-Porter’s The Edit that she would ‘be terrible at being like Taylor Swift, the perfect Miss American version of interacting with fans and making sure they have a good experience.’
The Pitch Perfect actress noted that her fans know to expect her ‘dry and cynical’ sense of humor and how ‘snarky’ she is with people.
‘That’s just how I communicate,’ Kendrick insisted.
During their press tour for A Simple Favor, the tension between Kendrick and Lively was palpable in interviews as they made sarcastic jokes and comments about each other.
The Celebrity Memoir Book Club podcast, run by New York City comedians, Claire Parker and Ashley Hamilton, claimed that the two women ‘were not speaking’ by the time shooting wrapped on their movie.
The allegation came from an insider that claimed to work at the film’s studio.
‘They HATED each other. The studio even had to have a talk with them about making it look like they liked each other on press tours because it was starting to get obvious,’ the insider alleged.
The source claimed that ‘Anna in particular was really competitive with Blake and was constantly asking to make sure she got more promotion than Blake and even made us PHOTOSHOP HER CLEAVAGE in The Simple Favor poster to be as big (or bigger) than Blake’s.’
Neither Kendrick nor Lively has ever commented on any animosity between them, but their costar, Henry Golding, denied the rumors.
‘Definitely no friction that I noticed,’ he insisted while appearing on Watch What Happens Live.
In 2022, it was announced that the pair would reunite to film A Simple Favor 2.
Justin Baldoni
Speculation about behind-the-scenes drama between Lively and Justin Baldoni have nearly overshadowed the release of their new film, It Ends With Us.
People has reported the rift also includes the principal cast of the film and Colleen Hoover, the author of the book of which the film is based on.
The outlet reported on Monday that the core cast and Hoover ‘will have nothing to do with’ Baldoni.
‘All is not what it seems’ in regards to Baldoni, who also reportedly clashed with the film’s leading star Blake amid production of the motion picture, a source told People on Monday.
‘There is much more to this story,’ a source told the outlet. ‘The principal cast and Colleen Hoover will have nothing to do with him.’
While the director had ‘creative differences’ with some of his collaborators on the motion picture, reports of tension while making the film had been ‘overblown,’ a source close to Baldoni told People Monday.
The source added that Lively ‘wants to direct the next movie, sidelining him and securing the rights from Colleen.’
Adding to the speculation about tension between the director and star of the film was Baldoni foregoing taking full cast pictures during the movie’s New York City premiere at AMC Lincoln Square on August 6, People reported.
Baldoni was pictured only posing alongside his spouse Emily Baldoni, 40, relatives and producers at the debut of the film.
According to Page Six, he presided over an ‘extremely difficult’ environment for cast and crew, with, quoting multiple sources, noting that Lively was personally ‘uncomfortable’ amid filming.
A source told the outlet, ‘None of the cast enjoyed working with Justin – they certainly didn’t talk to him at the premiere.’
A source noted to the outlet that Lively and Baldoni watched the motion picture in ‘two separate theaters’ at the venue.
Separate sources told the outlet that Baldoni ‘would never intentionally make his cast feel unsupported.’
Another insider claimed to DailyMail.com that Baldoni behaved in a ‘chauvinistic’ and ‘borderline abusive’ manner during filming of the motion picture, and was ‘dismissive’ of suggestions made by Lively ‘during scenes depicting abuse.’
The source added that Baldoni ‘failed to consider Blake’s character’s perspective, instead focusing solely on what he believed was the abusive male viewpoint’ and that ‘his approach was very chauvinistic, creating a tense atmosphere on set.
‘Justin almost became the character in the sense that some women on set felt he was borderline abusive to them and that he was unprofessional and unapologetic.’

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Lively felt ‘fat-shamed’ by him on set.
According to TMZ, the Gossip Girl alum felt uncomfortable during the making of their movie after two alleged incidents.
While preparing for a scene, in which he is suppose to lift her into the air, Baldoni, who suffers from back problems, allegedly asked a trainer on set how much she weighed to avoid incurring an injury.
When the mother-of-four learned about Baldoni’s comments, she allegedly felt fat-shamed by him.
TMZ sources also cited another alleged instance that bothered Lively on the set.
The duo were filming a kissing scene and sources claim Lively believed Baldoni ‘lingered’ longer than was necessary for the kiss.
DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Baldoni and Lively for comment.
Amid the rumors, Baldoni hired a crisis public relations firm to represent him, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
