The 2024 edition of the show has been filmed already, with stars making the 12,500 km journey of a lifetime from Belém, in Northern Brazil – the gateway to the Amazon. Good Morning Britain weatherman Alex Beresford won Celebrity Race Across the World in 2023, the first ever series of the show, with his dad Noel. During Celebrity Race Across the World, they passed through 24 countries in 28 days covering 10,000km from Marrakesh in Morroco to Tromsø in Norway in an amazing achievement.

The father and son duo said they were on top of the world when they won the show last year. Noel said: “It was something else. Alex kept saying to me, ‘Come on dad, come on dad’ and I said ‘I’m right behind you!’ He just kept pulling me along and it’s all worth it now!”

Beresford added: “This is the toughest experience I have ever had. But we got to travel together, as men, and that isn’t something that every father and son get to do, and for me, that’s why this has been unforgettable and something that I will cherish for the rest of our lives.”

Following his win on Celebrity Race Across the World that aired in autumn last year, Beresford returned to his job on ITV presenting the weather on Good Morning Britain. He has been presenting the weather on ITV for more than 10 years, first as a regional personality in the West Country before making his mark in the national team.

Unsurprisingly, Beresford has caught the travel bug and has continued to jet-set across the world following the amazing experience. In January this year, the TV star finally made it to Paris where he had always wanted to visit. He wrote on Instagram: “There’s always that one place you’ve always wanted to go, but for some reason or another you never seem to get there. This weekend we got there and were bathed in icy winter sunshine, which kept us cool for every one of the 60’000 steps! Battered but happy. Thank you Paris.”

More recently, the weatherman enjoyed a family trip to New York City where he visited his dad’s eldest sisters Aunty Eula. Beresford explored New York City with his wife Imogen McKay and his son Cruz. Plus, he returned to Mallorca where he married Imogen in a clifftop temple in 2022. Beresford has kept his fans updated on his travels via his Instagram account.
