She’s going through the wringer.
Jennifer Aniston was photographed looking tearful during an emotional phone call.
The “Friends” star, 55, is currently in Manhattan filming her AppleTV+ hit “The Morning Show,” and was crying on the phone as part of the show.
This comes on the heels of Aniston recently getting photographed looking furious, rushing through a crowd of protestors who threw fake oil on her – also as part of the series.
Now filming Season 4, the Emmy-nominated drama follows rival news anchors Alex (Aniston) and Bradley (Reese Witherspoon, 48), and the cut-throat and chaotic world of morning TV.
Both Winterspoon and Aniston earned “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” Emmy nominations this year. The ceremony will take place Sept. 15.
Although “The Morning Show” has a prestige TV polish with Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, it’s often got oddball plot turns. For instance, last season sent Bradley to space and also had a plot involving her being at the U.S. capitol during the insurrection of Jan. 6, 2020. Aniston also had a steamy onscreen sex scene with Jon Hamm.
Aniston previously told Variety that she refused to use an intimacy coordinator to shoot a steamy sex scene with Jon Hamm.
“I was like, ‘What does that mean?’ They said, ‘Where someone asks you if you’re OK,’ and I’m like, ‘Please, this is awkward enough! We’re seasoned — we can figure this one out,’ ” Aniston recalled.
Although “The Morning Show” Season 4 hasn’t revealed its plot details, it looks like Aniston’s character, Alex, will go through a lot of hardships. Perhaps the tearful phone call was about the oil incident.
Aniston has also recently been in the news for making a rare political comment.
The “Friends” alum called out GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance on her Instagram Story Wednesday after Vance’s comments from a July 2021 interview with Fox News went viral.
In the resurfaced interview, Vance, 39, claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Pete Buttigieg were “people without children” who were controlling the “entire future of the Democrats.”
In the clip that Aniston shared, Vance claimed the US was being controlled by “childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and … want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”
“I truly can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of the United States,” Aniston wrote in response.
“All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day,” added Aniston, who has previously opened up about her personal IVF story.
Aniston continued, “I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”
Apple has not yet announced a premiere date for Season 4 of “The Morning Show.”
