Local celebrities warm up the diamond for Appy League All-Star Game celebration

The biggest stars in the Appalachian League will be in Johnson City Tuesday night for the Appy League All-Star Game.

But some local celebrities hit the diamond Monday night for a little All-Star appetizer.

Former Vols John Fulkerson and Kirby Connell, along with former big leaguer and Johnson City Cardinal Rick Ankiel, were among those taking part in the celebrity softball game.

Our own Heather Williams was also in on the action. Those playing in the game say it’s a great way to interact with fans and promote the Appy League.

After the softball there was an All-Star skills competition and a homerun derby
