Elton John, other celebrities are selling their clothes on eBay for nonprofit

UNDATED (WKRC/CNN Newsource) – Elton John took to the ecommerce company, eBay, to sell his clothes on the platform to raise money for his AIDS foundation.

Sir Elton launched the “Rocket Man Resale” auction on Thursday.

Fans could purchase pieces from his Atlanta wardrobe for as low as $26.60. The price was set for $26.60 to represent the road address of the singer’s previous home in Atlanta.

“100% of sales from Rocket Man Resale will be donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation,” said the foundation on the eBay page. “Our mission is simple: to be a powerful force in the end to the AIDS epidemic.”

The auction will last for 10 days. Items from David Furnish, Donatella Versace, Brandi Carlile, Betsey Johnson, Robin Roberts and Andy Cohen were also for sale.

The musician started the nonprofit, Elton John AIDS Foundation, in 1992 to support innovation HIV prevention, education programs, direct care and support services to people living with or at risk of HIV.
