Celebrities at the ‘MAXXXINE’ LA Premiere

The world premiere of A24’s ‘MAXXXINE’ took place at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Monday, attracting an array of celebrities who joined Lily Collins and Elizabeth Debicki on the red carpet.

If the Vogue World Paris event left you wanting more, this red carpet event might not be the fashion spectacle you were hoping for.

Halsey turned heads in a gold and sequin cut-out dress from Bronx and Banco’s Fall 2022 collection. While it fit the theme of the event, the ensemble evoked early 90s Destiny’s Child at the Grammys vibes—when the iconic girl group was still a quartet. The look may have felt nostalgic, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for originality or modernity.

Mia Goth, known for her chilling roles as a scream queen, chose a Ludovic de Saint Sernin Fall 2024 dress. For those who appreciate Mia’s more subdued, muted outings, this look would have been a delight, with its understated allure. However, for those who prefer her with more dramatic flair, this ensemble might have fallen flat.

You may remember that Ashley Graham wore a custom version of this dress to the 2024 Met Gala.

Sophie Thatcher, another scream queen in attendance, made a surprising choice with a summery lemon dress from Giuseppe Di Morabito. While the dress itself was fresh and vibrant, her eye makeup clashed with the lighthearted tone creating a disjointed look. The addition of Kathryn Bentley Jewelry earrings did little to reconcile the mismatch between her makeup and dress.

Kyra Sedgwick is a better woman than me because wearing a vinyl LaQuan Smith Fall 2021 puff sleeve mini dress with tights feels like crazy work to me during these summer months.

Her husband, Kevin Bacon, was a refreshing sight to see in this stylish salmon-hued summer suit, embodying the season’s relaxed yet polished aesthetic with a hint of retro appeal.
