Joe Alwyn made his first public appearance since breaking his silence on his split from Taylor Swift last weekend.

The couple dated for six years, and news of their breakup shocked Swifites.

In an interview with The Sunday Times Style, Alwyn was asked if he had heard Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which fans have speculated has a handful of songs written about their relationship.

While Alwyn didn’t directly answer the question, he did comment on his relationship with the superstar.

“In thinking on what I was going to say, I would think and hope that anyone and everyone can empathise and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years,” he said.

“That is a hard thing to navigate.”
