20 celebrities who aren’t passing their wealth on to their kids

The billionaire who co-founded Facebook said he’ll leave a bit of his wealth to his kid, but the vast majority of his net worth when he dies will be donated to charity. Mark Zuckerberg says he has a responsibility to leave the world better than he found it. 

Bill Gates won’t be leaving much of his wealth to his kids either, despite having billions. But to be fair, his kids still will get more from their father than most people see in their lifetime — a small percentage of billions is still quite a bit of money. 

Billionaires just don’t want their kids to become wealthy without any effort it seems. The richest man in the Midwest says that he’ll leave behind enough for his children to have options but not so much that they can afford not to work. 

Andrew Lloyd Webber made his billion-dollar fortune through writing show tunes, and the sad song for his kids is that they won’t be inheriting much of his money when he goes. The maestro says he doesn’t believe it’s good for children to suddenly come into large sums of money. 

Elton John doesn’t have billions to leave his kids, but he does have more than enough to support them for the rest of their lives. John has said that while he intends to leave enough for his children to feel secure, he won’t leave so much that they’re spoiled. 

Daniel Craig has millions and millions to leave behind to his children, but he doesn’t plan to. The James Bond actor doesn’t like the idea of inheritances, and therefore he won’t be padding his children with one. 

Gene Simmons doesn’t want to be the reason his children are wealthy either. According to the iconic musician, if his children are successful it’s going to be from their own efforts. He finds value in being able to say you’ve earned your wealth on your own. 

Jackie Chan wants to teach his children the lesson of responsibility. He believes that everyone should have to earn their own success, and he doesn’t want his kids to waste what he’s earned. 

Anderson Cooper wants his children to go about adulthood financially the same way he did. He’ll pay for his kids’ education, but beyond that, he won’t be funding anything else. 

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have made loads of money through their acting careers and other investments, but their kids won’t inherit it. They’ve said they’ll invest in their children’s potential business ideas if they believe in them, but any money the duo has earned themselves will be given away when they die. 

Don McLean intended to leave money for both of his children, but after his daughter publicly claimed that McLean was abusive while she was a child, he cut her off. It seems McLean’s son is still going to inherit his portion of his father’s wealth. 

Guy Fieri told his kids that he intended to die broke and that his children would have to pay for his funeral. He does have one stipulation that could result in leaving his kids money: Earn two degrees. 

George Lucas is famous for creating an entirely new world, but he’s most passionate about improving this one. Instead of making his kids wealthy when he passes, he’s going to donate his billions to causes that improve education. 

Laurene Powell Jobs became ultra-wealthy herself when her husband, Steve Jobs, died. But she doesn’t care about money, so she intends to spend it all on charitable causes before she dies.
