Prosecutors must pursue the truth, not act like cheap political celebrities

I am a retired lawyer, starting in practice in 1980. I learned in law school that a prosecutor’s job is to to pursue the truth. A prosecutor has the awesome power of the government behind him, and he must be fair in everything that he does. The criminal justice system operates under the assumption that prosecutors practice the highest degree of legal ethics at all times.

I feel that lately, some prosecutors have forgotten what they were taught in law school about legal ethics. Like so many other public servants, they have become cheap political celebrities, looking for the next public relations rush.

Our legal hierarchy (judges and lawyers) needs to step up and call out these rouge prosecutors out and demand that they be disciplined.
