Kosair for Kids Pickleball Classic hosted in Butchertown, including some Louisville celebrities

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America and it’s even better when it’s all for a good cause.

The inaugural Kosair for Kids Pickleball Classic took place Saturday at GoodBounce Pickleball Yard in Butchertown.

The charity event welcomed all ages at all skill levels.

Several dozen people played and there was a family fun zone with inflatables and a mobile petting zoo.

“They are having fun and they are doing a lot of good by having fun,” said Chris Williams, senior vice president of communications at Kosair for Kids. “They are spreading joy to Kosair kids. Last year, more than 260,000 kids benefitted from the help with medical bills, research, education, social services and child advocacy that Kosair for Kids provides.”

There was a special celebrity showcase with some familiar local faces. WDRB’s Tom Lane and Julie Dolan played as well as former UofL stars Peyton Siva and Eric Wood.
