Major Winners and Celebrities Heading to Seapoint for OFX Legends Golf

Major winners Michael Campbell and Ian Woosnam will join last year’s winner and many more great names from golf will tee it up alongside sporting Legends at the 2024 OFX Irish Legends Pro-Am.

A star-studded field has been announced for the OFX Irish Legends Pro-Am at Seapoint Golf Links. English cricket player, James Anderson, former Irish goalkeeper Shay Given and Irish soccer star Megan Campbell are among the players who have been confirmed for the celebrity Pro-Am to be played on June 19th. If Campbell can hit the small ball with as much accuracy as she throws the big one then she will be fun to watch.

James Anderson is one of the greatest English cricket players of all time as he holds the record for most wickets by a pace bowler in Test cricket history, having reached 700 wickets. He will be joined in the field by Irish soccer stars Megan Campbell and Shay Given. Irish boy band legends, Brian McFadden of Westlife and Keith Duffy of Boyzone will also be taking part in the celebrity Pro-Am at Seapoint Golf Links.

“We are thrilled to sponsor the OFX Irish Legends Tour and to witness so many incredible celebrities attending this event,” said Maeve McMahon, OFX President, EMEA.

“It will be fantastic to watch them tee off in front of an enthusiastic crowd that anyone can be part of.”

“This collaboration not only boosts our profile in the Irish and European markets but also aligns us with an event that showcases exceptional golfing talent from Ireland and beyond.”

“At OFX, we are dedicated to providing expert support for businesses needing to transfer money globally. The Legends Tour’s longevity and global presence mirror our company’s values and vision for worldwide reach and expertise.”

The celebrities will be teeing it up alongside defending champion Peter Baker, Ian Woosnam, Irish star Peter Lawrie, Stephen Dodd and Paul Lawrie. These golfing legends have a combined total of 44 DP World Tour titles, 2 majors, 1 senior major and 11 Ryder Cup appearances between them.

“I am really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Seapoint Golf Links for the 2024 OFX Irish Legends,” said Andrew Phelan, Managing Director of Seapoint.

“Building on the foundations we created last year; our team has been working tirelessly for the last number of weeks to ensure our Championship links course is in the best shape possible for the event.”

“It was a great success last year and now with a new title sponsor OFX on board and an even stronger field, we have a lot to look forward to,” added Course co-designer Des Smyth.

The field is set at Seapoint Golf Links, and it is sure to be a fun and competitive week for the celebrities and players competing from 19 – 22 June.
