On May 20, reports broke that Harry Styles and Taylor Russell ended their romance after almost a year together. Their breakup might not be permanent though, a source tells Us Weekly today. Styles and Russell paused their relationship because it does have serious potential.
“They’re taking some time to reevaluate things and see if this relationship is [one] that they really want to be in for the long run,” the source said.
When The Sun first reported their split, a source gave similar intel, saying, “They went through a rough patch after their trip to Japan [in April] and are taking some time apart. He’s been in America and she’s been in London. They made a lovely couple, and it was obvious Taylor made Harry happy. Things have become strained recently though, and they’ve taken some time out.”
The breakup news comes after a source told People on May 3 that Russell and Styles “are fairly serious and have traveled together. They do spend time in England.”
That insider described Styles as being “private person,” and said that he and Russell “have the same interests.”
Styles and Russell never spoke about their relationship publicly during their time together. This comes as no surprise, especially on Styles’ end.
In August 2022, he explained to Rolling Stone that he has purposely always kept his love life private. “I’ve never talked about my life away from work publicly and found that it’s benefited me positively,” he said, acknowledging that people will still speculate. “There’s always going to be a version of a narrative, and I think I just decided I wasn’t going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way.”
