Daniel Radcliffe reveals his true thoughts about the ‘Harry Potter’ TV series

He’s not ready to hop back on his Firebolt.

Daniel Radcliffe, 34, has broken his silence about the forthcoming “Harry Potter” TV series.

“I don’t think so,” he told E! News about whether he’ll appear in it.

“I think they very wisely want to [have] a clean break. And I don’t know if it would work to have us do anything in it.”

Radcliffe starred as the Boy Who Lived in all eight installments of the “Harry Potter” franchise for a decade of his life, from 2001-2011.

In April, Max announced that the “Harry Potter” series will also get a TV adaptation.

“The stories from each of Rowling’s Harry Potter books will become a decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love and care this global franchise is known for,” the platform said in its press release about the show.

“The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail, much loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years.”

Radcliffe — who recently became a new dad when he welcomed a son in April with his longtime partner, Erin Darke, 39 — has also publicly disagreed with J.K. Rowling about her controversial stance on transgender issues.

“It’s clear that we need to do more to support transgender and nonbinary people, not invalidate their identities,” he said in a 2020 letter to the Trevor Project. While he didn’t directly criticize Rowling in that letter, it was published shortly after Rowling’s viral essay on the topic.

Rowling has since slammed Radcliffe and his co-star, Emma Watson, 34, who also spoke out, saying they can “save their apologies.”

James and Oliver Phelps, who played mischievous twins Fred and George Weasley in the movies, weren’t as quick to shut down the possibility of appearing in the show.

“I suppose so. It’s one of those things where it’s never really a chapter closed in your life,” Oliver, 38, told The Post in July.

“Whether [we’d appear in the show as] our characters, that’s a totally different thing — we’re not quite looking like high schoolers anymore! If it does happen, we only know as much as you do. But, it’s nice that there’s a lot of intrigue around the show.”

James chimed in, “We’ve got a very close bond with a lot of the Potter cast. Because it’s like friends from high school or college. You’ve gone through a lot together.”

Radcliffe wasn’t completely against the idea of a TV show, however.

He also told the outlet, “I’m very happy to just watch along with everyone else.”

At 34, Radcliffe is too old to play Harry during the boy wizard’s school years — which sees Harry go through ages 11 through 17.

But, Harry’s father, James, famously looked just like him. In theory, Radcliffe could appear on the show as James Potter.

When the outlet asked how Radcliffe would respond of the Max production asked him to appear on it, he said, “I’m gonna be a politician about this, and not deal in hypotheticals.”
