Tiffany Haddish threw shade at Henry Cavill when she used him as an example to explain why she no longer dates celebrities.
The actress, 44, insinuated that many stars are a lot different than how they are perceived and used the Man of Steel star, 40, whom she called ‘awkward,’ as an example.
For that reason, the comedian — who also recently confessed about using a secret social media account — said she no longer wants to date anyone famous like her.
She revealed that she has switched dating apps and uses Bumble instead of Raya, which caters to the stars.
‘All the famous guys I used to think, “Oh, I would love to do it to him,” she admitted to the Los Angeles Times in an interview published on Thursday.
‘I know them now and I’m like, “No,”‘ she said.
Haddish then used Cavill — who is expecting his first child with his Hollywood exec girlfriend of three years Natalie Viscuso — as an example to explain how she became disillusioned to a star’s charm after meeting them in person and discovering their real personalities.
‘I used to really want Henry Cavill. I think he’s so hot,’ she said. ‘But I met him and he was so awkward.’
She added: ‘It was like, “This would be weird. I should be talking to him about Dungeons & Dragons. Maybe he’d be more comfortable.”‘
The Girl’s Trip star also wondered if he was ‘awkward’ because he was nervous around her.
‘Or maybe he’s just never had a Black woman be like, “What’s up? What’s your credit score? Do you like spaghetti? I’ll cook for you. Are you afraid of South Central or not?”‘
Despite it all, she still praised his good looks and added: ‘But he’s still beautiful.’
On the topic of romance and dating, Haddish also revealed that she has a new, personal rule to end all romances after nine months.
Likewise, she also said she is trying to slow down in her own career too, look out for her own best interests and take more time to rest.
‘If I say I can’t do something, I can’t do it,’ she said.
‘I feel way more comfortable saying that now,’ she told the outlet.
‘I can’t bend backwards no more,’ the Night School alum added. ‘I’m not built for it.’
Haddish was last romantically linked to rapper Common — whom she dated for a year before they broke up in November 2021.
Last year, she said that she has been focusing on herself.
At the season two premiere of her show Afterparty in June 2023, she told People: ‘I’m dating me.’
She added that she occasionally goes on dates ‘from time to time,’ but her suitors have to ‘earn the privilege’ of joining her at public events.
Previously, she had tied the knot with William Stewart twice before they called it quits for good in 2013.
Their first marriage lasted from 2008 to 2011. It’s unclear when they married again, but Haddish claims that they divorced for a second time in 2013.
