All the celebrities banned from the Met Gala

The Met Gala is one of the most exclusive events of the year, and celebrities are known to give anything to make the super exclusive invite list–but some aren’t allowed to attend.

While some celebrities fates are sealed when it comes to their making the guest list, others can find themselves surprised by their being excluded. 

Others can also be the ones surprising event host Anna Wintour, by declining her invitations. 

However, while some celebrities expect to not always be invited, others don’t have to sweat if they’ll be invited or not–as they have been banned from the event.

While Wintour doesn’t explicitly confirm those who are not allowed to come by name, these are the celebs who are believed to be permanently unwelcome.

He confirmed he had been disinvited during a 2016 interview with E! after getting into an “open war” with Wintour when he criticized her by sharing a moment he considered the most “unforgettable thing” he’d ever seen in fashion.

“And I said, ‘it’s easy. It was watching Anna Wintour being carried down five flights of stairs by two bodyguards–two big hulking men–from a fashion show,” he said at the time.

Of course, while others have notably not attended after initial appearances, it is believed to be by their own choice.

They include Demi Lovato, Lili Reinhart, Jameela Jamil, Tina Fey, Amy Schumer and Zayn Malik.
