Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) denied an apology from celebrity father Mohamed Hadid after a report emerged that he had sent the New York Democrat several homophobic and racist messages.
Hadid, who is Palestinian and is the father of models Bella and Gigi Hadid, has been outspoken over his opposition to Israel, even comparing the Jewish state’s war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza to the tactics of Nazi Germany. Torres has been a fierce defender of Israel in its war in Gaza, which followed the Hamas terrorist attacks last Oct. 7.
The New York Post reported over the weekend that Hadid had sent Torres, who is openly gay, several messages berating him over his support for Israel, many of which were racist and homophobic. The messages included saying Torres was a “slave to whites,” along with saying that he is “worse than the rats of New York sewage system.”
After the report ran, Hadid issued a message on his Instagram, defending his “anger” but apologizing for “the words I used to express that anger.”
“I need to apologize. Not for the anger I feel but for the words I used to express that anger. I intended to express how Mr Torres is a shill being used by Israel,” Hadid said.
“I used the wrong words to express this anger but the anger is warranted,” he added in the lengthy message, where Hadid also apologized for taking the conversation “away from Palestine.”
Torres did not mince his words when responding to Hadid’s message, calling Hadid “fraudulent” and a “rabid racist.”
Mohamed Hadid’s so-called “apology” is as fraudulent as the man himself. Hadid has been unmasked as a rabid racist to the core, and his pitiful attempt at a “mea culpa” is fooling no one. pic.twitter.com/BkREwCJWTz

The war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza is in its seventh month, with Israel having gone through most of Gaza but still holding on to its likely operation in Rafah, the final Hamas stronghold.
