Presenter Jenni Falconer and politician Matt Hancock were among the stars who took part in this year’s London Marathon.

Over 50,000 runners battled the 26.2-mile course through the capital city, with the marathon starting in Blackhath and snaking around iconic sights in London. Many celebrities were seen running the gruelling course, including actress Ruth Wilson who ran on behalf of Alzheimer’s Research UK following her father Nigel’s diagnosis.

Dame Kelly Holmes, TV presenter Jenni and others were seen smiling at the finish line after completing the course. Mr Hancock, who has been busy with many reality appearances in recent years, beamed with joy as he showed off his medal to photographers while recovering from the exhaustion. Comedian Romesh Ranganathan, radio star Chris Evans, Jamie Borthwick, and Sophie Raworth also took part in the marathon.
