These celebrities predicted a UConn vs. Purdue final

STORRS, Conn. (WTNH) — Call it luck, call it skill, but some lucky bracket makers have accurately predicted a University of Connecticut matchup against Purdue in the final round of the NCAA Tournament.

No one has a perfect bracket, even long before the Elite Eight, according to the NCAA. Overall, more than 25% of brackets chose the Huskies to win it all.

But who predicted the final game? A few celebrities got it right.

That list includes college basketball analyst Andy Katz, who expects the UConn men to take home back-to-back national titles. The team has won the NCAA Tournament five times — in 1999, 2004, 2011, 2014 and 2023.

Other analysts favored a UConn and Purdue final, including Jay Wright and Stephen A. Smith.

“Bachelor” lead Joey Graziadei also threw UConn and Purdue into his final two, with UConn winning it all.

If UConn wins, raise a glass — of root beer. Mug has promised to give the nation a free root beer if a team with a dog wins.

UConn will face off against Purdue at 9:20 p.m. Monday.
