Jack Black has been announced as the latest celebrity to star on CBeebies Bedtime Stories.
The actor, 54, will join CBeebies Bedtime Stories’ Easter weekend line-up alongside Joanne Froggatt, Justin Fletcher and Tom Hardy.
The Kung Fu Panda star leads the Easter weekend fun on Friday 29 April with a brilliant reading of ‘Pom Pom is Super’ written by Sophy Henn.
Jack sported a bushy grey beard and long hair as he chat on a single brown armchair, next to a toy Panda – seemingly a nod to his iconic character.
Elsewhere, Downton Abbey actress Joanne will read ‘Like a Girl’ by Lori Degman and illustrated by Mara Penny on the Saturday.
Joanne says: ‘Storytelling has always been my passion and I couldn’t be more excited to be reading for CBeebies Bedtime Stories. The story is so beautiful and empowering and would be a lovely way to spend a little of the Easter weekend. I hope you enjoy it.’
CBeebies legend Justin Fletcher has a bunny-tastic adventure in store for audiences on Easter Sunday 31 March, with a hilarious reading of ‘Bunnies In A Boat’ by Philip Ardagh and illustrated by Ben Mantle.
Then rounding off the weekend, Tom returns to Bedtime Stories on Monday 1 April reading ‘I am a Tiger’ written by Karl Newson and illustrated by Ross Collins.
Jack joins the stellar slate of famous faces to have read a CBeebies Bedtime Story, including Jason Momoa, David Tennant, Geri Horner, Harry Styles , Elton John and Louis Theroux.
It comes after Jack – who voices Master Ping Xiao Po in the popular film franchise – was seen in Sydney promoting his latest animated feature, Kung Fu Panda 4.
It’s been almost a decade since the last instalment of the popular animated franchise, Kung Fu Panda 3, opened in 2016.
It marks Jack’s return to the iconic role of Po, building on his Emmy-winning performance in the Netflix series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight.
In Kung Fu Panda 4, Po embarks on a journey away from the tranquil Valley of Peace into the bustling big city, encountering his most formidable threat to date.
The highly anticipated film also stars Golden Globe winner Awkwafina and Oscar winners Gary Oldman, Viola Davis and Dustin Hoffman.
The animated comedy is directed by Mike Mitchell (Trolls, Shrek Forever After) and Stephanie Ma Stine (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power).
Kung Fu Panda 4 hits cinemas in Australia March 28, with advance screenings March 22-24.
CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on each weekday at 6.50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
