Sorry Oates.
Daryl Hall and Elvis Costello — who collaborated on the 1984 song “The Only Flame In Town” — just announced they’re hitting the road for a 22-concert summer tour where they’ll drop into amphitheaters, music halls and art centers all over North America.
Along the way, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are slated to swing into New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on July 16, Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center on July 18 and Bethel, NY’s Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on July 20.
“It’s fantastic to be able to rekindle a musical relationship,” Hall said in a statement.
“We are looking forward to kicking off the show in style in the certainty that Daryl will deliver a slam-bang finish,” Costello, who will be bringing his backing band The Imposters with Charlie Sexton, added.
The co-headliners may even share the stage; according to Variety, Hall often performed with Todd Rundgren when they toured together in years past.
For fans who want to see the pair who brought the world “Maneater,” “Pump It Up” and so many more mega hits live, tickets can be secured as soon as today.
Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 15, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

John Oates solo tour
Hall’s former bandmate — whom he has a restraining order against now — is heading out on a solo tour of his own this year.
From March through August, the 75-year-old rocker will play at venues all over the U.S. including Newton, NJ’s Newton Theatre on Thursday, Aug. 22.

Daryl Hall new music
In 2022, Hall released the ambitious 30-track album “Before After.”
The record harkens back to Hall’s classic piano-based hits and ballads of yesteryear.
We’re particularly fond of the bouncy “Babs and Babs” that wouldn’t feel out of place on a Hall and Oates ’80s cassette you’d blast while driving down the highway.
Want to hear the whole album — which includes a few live songs — to get a taste for yourself?
You can hear “Before After” in its entirety here.

Elvis Costello new music
The 69-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer hasn’t lost a step.
In 2022 alone, Costello released two records.
First, he dropped his 32nd studio album, “The Boy Named If,” which Pitchfork called “smashing.”
Later, he teamed up with his old bandmate Allen Mayes to revive his old group, Rusty. Together, they delivered the six-song record “The Resurrection of Rust.”
Costello told Ultimate Classic Rock this unlikely team-up is the “record we (he and Mayes) would have cut when we were 18 if anyone had let us.”
You can hear bits and pieces of “The Resurrection of Rust” here.
Elvis Costello special guest
This summer, Costello and The Imposters will be joined by Charlie Sexton.
Sexton, 55, is a music vet who served as a guitarist in Bob Dylan’s band, co-founded Arc Angels and created the Charlie Sexton Sextet.
You can listen to his bluesy/rockabilly catalog — including the absolute banger “Beats So Lonely” — here.
