Sharon Osbourne reacts to Ozempic rumours amid ‘startling’ CBB appearance

Sharon Osbourne told fans she was sick of people criticising her for using Ozempic before she went on Celebrity Big Brother.

The former X Factor judge, 71, shocked several viewers with her appearance when she made her debut on the ITV show on Monday, with many commenting on how much weight she’s lost. However, the wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne said she’s got nothing to hide as she opened up about the controversial weight loss drug, which is used to treat diabetes.

Speaking to the Loose Women panel, earlier this year, she said: “I don’t regret it. Everything with weight with me was, ‘I want it now.’ The injections that I was on worked, but it just seems that now I can’t put anything on really.”

Sharon previously revealed she lost a whopping 42 lbs after using Ozempic — but the drug had such extreme effects that she was unable to put on any weight. “If I could, I’d put back another 10 [lbs],” she said. “I’m just an ordinary person who got lucky and I didn’t take advantage of that. I never want to forget that I am blessed and been really lucky in my life.”

She added in an interview with E! News she was tired of people “lying” about their weight loss, saying it’s rarely down to an “amazing cleanse”. “Who cares?” she asked. “It’s your path in life, it’s what you choose and it’s not a dirty little secret.” Sharon’s daughter, Kelly, also defended the drug while on the red carpet for a CBS variety special on January 30, saying: “I think it’s amazing! There are a million ways to lose weight. Why not do it through something that isn’t as boring as working out?”

However, speaking in November Sharon, admitted she’d gone “too far” with the drug, telling the Daily Mail: “I’m too gaunt, and I can’t put any weight on. I want to because I feel I’m too skinny. I’m under 100 pounds, and I don’t want to be. Be careful what you wish for.”

Detailing her experience with Ozempic – which is usually taken as a once-weekly injection to manage blood glucose levels – Sharon implied she’d given it up in January, revealing: “Last December, I resorted to injecting myself with Ozempic, a semaglutide that fools the brain into thinking you’re not hungry. I lost 42lb — that’s 3st — but it was too much. Now, I weigh just over 7st. I need to put on 10lb, but however much I eat, I stay the same weight.

“I’ve had enough. I’ve given up on all interventions. I couldn’t have much more facial surgery — there’s not that much skin left to stretch, pull or cut. And I won’t have any more fillers or Botox. I don’t think I’ll ever be happy with the way I look. But I’m now satisfied. It’s taken years for me to say this but I’ve learned my lesson. This is me. It’s finally time to leave well alone.”
