Celebrity-chaser turned cop: Who is the man connected to the disappearance of a Sydney couple?

A New South Wales police officer who is in custody in connection with the disappearance of two men from Sydney’s east is a former celebrity chaser.

Police have expressed “grave concerns” for the safety of 29-year-old Luke Davies and 26-year-old Jesse Baird after items that “appeared to be unusual” were found in a skip bin in Cronulla on Wednesday.

At Mr Baird’s Paddington home, police discovered a “significant” amount of blood.

NSW Police Officer Beau Lamarre, 29, presented himself to police at Bondi police station at 10:30am on Friday, after a search. 

In a statement, police have said they are “looking at a line of inquiry that a third person may be able to assist with the investigation”.

Life as a super-fan

Prior to his career in the force, Constable Lamarre was a celebrity chaser who snapped selfies with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift.

He appeared in dozens of interviews on red carpets for a celebrity blog site around a decade ago, including Ben Stiller, Cody Simpson, Russell Crowe and Chris Hemsworth.

He attended events including the ARIA awards, AACTA awards and film premieres.

A YouTube account associated with the blog site remains online.
