Love did not take over during Kelly Rowland’s stop at the “Today” show on Thursday.
The R&B singer and actress reportedly left the morning talk show after issues with her dressing room, leaving Hoda Kotb, 59, rushing to find a replacement co-host, sources told Page Six.
Rowland, 43, appeared as a guest on the 8 a.m. hour of the show but dramatically left the set before she was supposed to fill in for Jenna Bush Hager in the fourth hour of “Today With Hoda & Jenna.”
“Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving [Kotb] without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour,” one source claimed.
The Post has contacted reps for Rowland and “Today” for comment.
The dressing rooms at “Today” are notoriously small and are better described as “glorified closets,” one source claimed.
“They’re not nice. It’s the oldest building. There are major space limitations, [it’s] not glamorous. It’s not fresh flowers, and candles and gourmet food. It’s basically [a] white box,” one source shared.
Rowland’s entourage apparently asked about a green room upstairs because “they didn’t like the one she was in,” but Jennifer Lopez was already occupying that space.
“Today” producers allegedly tried to accommodate Rowland with several other options, including multiple talent dressing rooms and some much larger utility makeup and hair areas.
“They didn’t want that. [The show] basically offered up as much as possible, but they weren’t happy with it, so they walked and they left,” an insider told Page Six.
The Destiny’s Child alum’s abrupt exit stunned “Today” insiders because “she’s beloved at ‘Today.’ She was getting the full hour, and Hoda’s the biggest hype woman on the planet! It made no sense,” one source said.
Luckily, “Today” guest Rita Ora was able to fill in for Rowland and was allegedly happy to take over a dressing room similar to the one deemed unacceptable by the “Motivation” singer.
