CA’s Top Celebrity-Owned Restaurants: Gosling, Coppola Take Top Honors

CALIFORNIA — It should come as no surprise that six of the country’s best-rated celebrity-owned restaurants are located in California, according to a new ranking of guest reviews.

Actor Ryan Gosling is the movie star behind the best-ranked celebrity restaurant in the Golden State, according to research conducted by experts at Q.R. Code Generator. The team analyzed a list of celebrity-owned and invested restaurants in the U.S. to determine which restaurants are the best rated by the average percentage of excellent Google Reviews.

California celebrities whose restaurants were snubbed by the list include “Breaking Bad” star Dean Norris’ Temecula eatery The Swing Inn Cafe, Robert De Niro’s Nobu Malibu, Jessica Biel’s Au Fudge in West Hollywood, Sammy Hagar’s Red Rocker Bar & Grill in Roseville, and Mark Wahlberg’s Wahlburgers with locations in Hollywood, Long Beach, and Palo Alto — to name a few.

And the winners are…

Gosling’s Tagine in Beverly Hills ranked fifth nationwide, with 77.77 percent excellent reviews, the report found. The restaurant serves Moroccan delicacies and offers a small and intimate dining experience along with $6 soft drinks.

Five other restaurants in California made the list of the top 20 best-rated celebrity restaurants.

Crossroads Kitchen in Hollywood ranked sixth, with 76.94 percent excellent reviews, according to the report. Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker invested in the restaurant, which serves a vegan menu including pastas, pizzas and salads.

Rustic in Geyserville ranked ninth, with 76.17 percent excellent reviews. The restaurant is located at film director Francis Ford Coppola’s winery and serves a menu that embraces international cuisine and traditional Italian dishes.

Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts in Los Angeles, from actor Danny Trejo, ranked 17th. The eatery had 68.46 percent excellent reviews, according to the report.

Actress Issa Rae’s Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen ranked 18th, with 68.46 percent excellent reviews. The chain has three locations in Los Angeles and another location in Inglewood.

Lisa Vanderpump’s TomTom Restaurant & Bar in West Hollywood took the 20th spot, with 67.15 percent excellent reviews.

Although six of the top 20 restaurants are in California, New Jersey is home to the most-loved celebrity restaurant, according to the report.

Jon Bon Jovi’s JBJ Soul Kitchen topped the list of celebrity restaurants receiving the best reviews from the public, with a rating of 91.62 percent excellent reviews. JBJ Soul Kitchen is a community restaurant serving American regional cuisine to paying and in-need customers, with no prices on the menu.

To compile the rankings, the team at Q.R. Code Generator gathered a list of celebrity restaurants and data-scraped for one- to five-star reviews on Google Reviews. Restaurants with less than 10 reviews weren’t included in the report. The team obtained the percentage of excellent reviews for restaurants by the number of five-star reviews compared to total reviews.
