Celebrity astrologers detail how to dress for your sun sign

Have you always wanted to know exactly how to dress for your astrology sign? 

Perhaps you dream of feeling bolder and really leaning into your sun sign, but aren’t quite sure where to start. 

FEMAIL spoke to two celebrity astrologers to find out exactly how you can channel your truest self through fashion, by wearing the right colors and fabrics.

From donning vibrant and daring ensembles to shining in whimsical patterns, these are the best ways to make sure you’re dressing like your zodiac sign – with celebrities offering living proof.

Celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas, based in Los Angeles, California, who’s known for his cosmic guidance for A-listers, weighed in on fashion trends for every sign. 

He highlighted Aries who opt for ‘vibrant and daring outfits’ and Taurus who appreciate ‘royal but comfortable’ ensembles.

Sophie Won, who was an astrologer on season two of Indian Matchmaker and founded the astrology app Reha, gave her own details on the sun signs’ astrological fashion choices.

She offered insights into ‘hyper-feminine’ Gemini and ‘fluid and flowy’ Cancer silhouettes.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Kyle described Aries as ‘bold, independent, and ready to lead the pack,’ and said because of their ‘fiery personalities,’ they do best in ‘vibrant and daring outfits.’

‘Their statement pieces should be a jacket or hat, especially because Aries rules the head,’ Kyle explained. 

Diana Ross, Reese Witherspoon, and Sarah Jessica Parker are a few example of bold Aries who certainly appreciate a statement-making accessory. 

Sophie agreed that Aries ‘thrive in bold silhouettes.’ 

‘Embracing the role of a risk-taker and daredevil, Aries individuals find confidence in pushing the boundaries with daring cuts that embody their independent energy,’ Sophie explained. 

‘Ruled by the fiery planet Mars, Aries can enhance their passionate and confident nature by opting for colors like deep, rich reds, coral, and dark pinks, Sophie continued. ‘These hues ignite and magnify the inherent energy that defines Aries.’

Sophie also suggested that Aries add coral and dark pinks to their wardrobe to ‘amplify their fiery essence,’ as well as avoiding black, which can ‘dampen their fire.’ 

‘Aries is all about setting trends ablaze and doing things in their unique way. Embodying a spirit of independence and confidence, Aries individuals can truly ignite their personal style,’ she added, which is certainly true for stars like Mariah Carey and Elton John. 

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Kyle described Taurus as ‘elegant as Venus, the planet that rules them.’

This natural elegance leads to lots of effortlessly chic outfits – think model-off-duty vibes. 

For Taurus, the go-to colors are pink, pale blue, and green, ‘so if they can integrate them in, they will vibrate at their highest peak and keep eyes glued to them,’ Kyle promised. 

‘They naturally have rich tastes with a sensual side, so they’ll want to make sure their wardrobe is both royal but comfortable,’ Kyle said. 

Just look at the multifaceted list of celebrity Tauruses as examples, like the always regal Queen Elizabeth II, as well as George Clooney, David Beckham, Adele, and Gigi Hadid. 

Sophie added: ‘Taurus, with its emphasis on aesthetics, doesn’t necessarily crave attention but values a style that exudes an underlying sensuality and luxurious, soft femininity.

‘This earthy sign gravitates towards soft, natural, and wholesome fabrics, with a particular emphasis on softness to evoke a grounded and safe feeling, aligning with Taurus’s desire for stability.’ 

The love of soft fabrics makes sense for Gigi, who has her own cashmere brand, Guest in Residence. 

Gemini (May 21 – June 20) 

‘Geminis always knows how to stand out from the crowd, and they look fantastic in whimsical and fun patterns,’ Kyle said, recommending a fun silhouette like a jumpsuit. 

Kyle said Gemini should opt for yellow to feel powerful, adding: ‘They are ruled by Mercury, so they like to bring attention to their fashion as a conversation piece.’ 

Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Angelina Jolie, the Olsen Twins, and Kanye West are all examples.

Sophie said ‘achieving a well-balanced mix of hyper-feminine and hyper-masculine silhouettes is crucial, as Gemini is inherently linked to the concept of duality, resembling the yin and yang.’

‘Embracing experimentation with fabrics and cuts is equally important for Geminis, as it keeps them intellectually engaged and in tune with their versatile nature,’ she added. 

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Cancers are all about their home life, so they love outfits that are especially cozy. 

Kyle advised Cancers to wear ensembles that are equal parts timeless and charming, as well as opting for silvery blue and smoky gray. 

‘They often like to feel modest enough, but they still tend to like to show off some their sensual curves,’ Kyle explained. 

Fittingly, Khloe Kardashian, Selena Gomez, and Lana Del Rey are all emotional Cancers who often showcase sultry styles.

Sophie said since Cancers were ‘deeply attuned to emotions,’ the ‘key to dressing for this sign lies in aligning one’s attire with their current emotional state,’ which was ever-changing. 

‘Fluid and flowy silhouettes work exceptionally well for this intuitive and sensitive sign,’ she proposed, adding that they should choose super soft fabrics and low-key patterns. 

Sophie agreed that Cancers should wear shades of blue since their elementally associated with water, also recommending sea green, white, and soft yellow, like the sea.  

‘On the contrary, black should be avoided, as it has the potential to dampen Cancer’s sensitive mood and is not in harmony with their emotional wavelength,’ Sophie warned, although Cancers like Ariana Grande love dressing in the dark color. 

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Leos love to be the center of attention, and they do that with outlandish outfits. 

‘The mighty and royal Leo always grabs the limelight and knows how to court the attention of everyone around them as if they are actors within a play,’ Kyle said. ‘They often love bedazzled jewelry and daring outfits, which will flash in the sunlight or sparkle at night.’ 

‘No matter what they wear, it always needs to stir some gossip,’ Kyle added.

‘However, they should always make sure to pay some extra time on their hair, as it is their mane. Their power colors are gold, yellow, and orange, so they should always pepper them into their fashion,’ Kyle explained. 

Meghan Markle, Kylie Jenner, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez, and Madonna are all Leos. 

Sophie said Leos adored glamour and luxury, which was ‘essential to amplify the innate star power within and fortify their natural leadership energy.’

The astrologist suggests ‘patterns and shapes that exude glamour is crucial to bring out their charismatic essence.’ 

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Virgos might seem conservative on the outside, but they love to bare a little bit of skin – especially when it comes to celebrities hitting the red carpet. 

‘Virgos tend to have a polite and modest fashion sense, yet also know how to make a conservative outfit packed with sex appeal,’ Kyle advised. 

‘That’s because they are careful on every little detail, and while they can be perfectionists, this means that they will not have a hair out of place.’

Kyle said Virgos ‘like to look approachable, as well as feminine and soft, just like their symbol, which is the Virgin.’ 

‘Their power colors are green and dark brown, so they should choose these shades or add them in with an accessory,’ he added.

‘They are ruled by Mercury, which is a versatile planet, so they can be versatile in their looks.’ 

A few extremely glamorous celebrity Virgos are Zendaya, Salma Hayek, Blake Lively, and Beyoncé. 

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

According to Kyle, Libras, who are ‘attracted to duality, should mix and match or pick something that hugs their form, but keeps everyone’s eyes going up and down their bodies.’

‘Ruled by Venus, planet of attraction, they like to keep things interesting and moving,’ he said, naming pale green and shades of blue as their power colors.

Just look at Cardi B, Hilary Duff, and Gwyneth Paltrow. 

Sophie called Libras the ‘tastemakers of the zodiac,’ and raved that they ‘naturally embody fashion, elegance, and on-trend styles,’ while making sure to strike just the right balance between trendy and timeless. 

‘Under the influence of Venus, Libras can enhance their sense of peace by embracing tasteful pastels,’ she said, as ‘these colors not only align with their aesthetic preferences but also contribute to the overall sense of balance they seek.’ 

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

Kendall Jenner, Drake, and Gabrielle Union are intense Scorpios who love daring ensembles and bold colors. 

Kyle said Scorpios tend to be quite chic as they ‘like to soak up the attention, so they often flaunt their bodies,’ opting for outfits that are ‘risqué, kinky, daring, or dominant.’ 

Unsurprisingly, this mysterious water sign looks their best in sexy, rich colors like red, dark purple, black, and maroon. 

According to Sophie, these colors ‘not only add depth to their psychic and intuitive nature but also amplify the intensity that defines Scorpio.’ 

‘Scorpios possess an inherent allure, and infusing a touch of sexiness into their style is crucial to enhance their inherent magnetism,’ she advised. 

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

If you’re a Sagittarius, try a flirty and fun outfit to stand out in a crowd. 

According to Kyle, ‘Sagittarian naturally have luck, beauty, and fire on their side, so they’re never afraid to get daring,’ with Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift as examples. 

‘They are always drawn to a little bit of controversy and adventure in their fashion, and their outfits often reflect this,’ Kyle continued.

‘They can mix and match easily, but often like to add in something a bit sassy or bold.’

Kyle says this bold approach to fashion makes jaws drop as they stir the pot and push the envelope. 

‘Their power colors are rich purples and deep blues, so if they add them to their outfits, they’ll vibrate at a higher frequency,’ Kyle said, and Sophie agreed, saying golden yellows, rich blues and purples will accentuate their positive energy. 

Sophie described Sagittarius as ‘epitomizing freedom, adventure, and exploration,’ and thriving ‘in a style that is cool and casual.’

She also explained that the key to dressing well as a Sag is not trying too hard, and wearing playful silhouettes that ‘enhance the sign’s friendly and optimistic nature.’

Sags are all about comfort while showing off their free-spirited personalities.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

Kyle said: ‘Capricorns, with their focus on success and strength, love to make a statement in their fashion, but often do so in more traditional, conservative, and grounded ways.

‘When it comes to them, rather than going over-the-board, they’re advised to dress in a way that draws respect.’

‘Often, they love a bit of designer fashion thrown in too, such as a designer handbag,’ Kyle added, which is true of Dolly Parton and her fabulous style. 

‘They can easily make a statement without having to be as flashy as some of the other zodiac signs, so if they keep it simple, they’ll have everyone in the palm of their hands. 

‘Their power colors are dark green, black, and gray, so they should play to their strengths.’

‘Capricorns, driven by the pursuit of achievement, ambition, and a strong work ethic, find resonance in the power suit,’ Sophie added of this practical earth sign, which is surely true for Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama. 

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Harry Styles encapsulates statement-making Aquarius fashion with his funky meets suave Gucci outfits. 

‘They love to express their eccentric and individual style whenever they can, so they should consider ways to take a popular or nostalgic fashion trend and put their spin on it,’ Kyle said, naming their power colors as electric blue and turquoise, which always stand out in a crowd. 

‘No matter what, though, they like to go a bit against the main fads and embrace something dramatic.’

Sophie described Aquarius as ’embodying the spirit of rebellion and individualism,’ as well as ‘flourishing in a style that is completely unique, enhancing the progressive nature of this sign.’

Unsurprisingly, Aquarius love funky patterns and prints that show that they’re completely unique. 

And there’s not just one silhouette they stick to – they adore having fun with fashion and experimenting with unconventional styles. 

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Kyle described this ‘mystical and ethereal’ sign as shining when they dress ‘chic and relaxed,’ in clothing that’s ‘fluid, flowy, and free.’ 

‘Their power color is a soft sea green, which will make them feel in their element if they integrate it into their wardrobe,’ he continued. 

‘Even consider jewelry that could harness this vibration for their natural Pisces roots – or a power gemstone to attract spiritual vibes.’ 

Just look at Rihanna or Olivia Rodrigo for proof – both popstars are glamorous in green. 

‘Pisces embodies empathy, compassion, and big dreams,’ Sophie said, suggesting ‘silhouettes that allow for ease and soft flow enhance their innate ability to empathize, creating a harmonious connection.’

‘Patterns and prints with a mystical, spiritual, and creative feel nourish the mystical and intuitive nature of Pisces. 

‘It’s advisable to steer clear of colors and silhouettes that are overly dramatic and fussy, as they might amplify the emotional drama that Pisces is prone to experiencing.’
