RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Several West River personalities took to the show rink at the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo on Monday.
Miss South Dakota, Pennington County State’s Attorney, and media personalities were just a few of the celebrities taking part in the “Celebrity Showmanship Competition” on Monday. Participants gave it their best shot by showing stock-show animals.
“I’m very nervous; I’m having a hard time finding my words; I am highly competitive. This looks like an unruly bunch of animals. I’m hoping I’m safe, and I’m ready to take it on,” expressed Pennington County State’s Attorney Lara Roetzel.
“She hopes she doesn’t draw the zebra because he’s been known to drag you around the show rink once in a while,” joked Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo general manager Ron Jeffries.
“The winner of the celebrity showmanship will get $500 for the charity of their choice. So everybody picks a charity, and whoever wins that charity is going to get a $500 check,” explained Jeffries.
