Kate Middleton’s Uncle Gary to Compete on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’: Report

Someone with royal connections may be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house.

ITV has been in talks with Gary Goldsmith, Kate Middleton’s mother Carole’s brother, to appear in the upcoming season of the hit UK reality series, the Sun reports.

The businessman has had his eye on the reality television cameras for some time, previously trying to appear in a season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! He was rejected from the show — where celebrities have to fend for themselves in the jungle — over fears that it would be embarrassing for the royal family.

An insider says that he is “confident and loud and won’t hold back,” making him a perfect fit for the show. The source continued to elaborate that Uncle Gary is very outspoken about his niece’s in-laws, Harry and Meghan, labeling him as “TV gold.”

With deep affection for William and Kate, ITV is looking for him to give insight as to what it’s like being closely connected to the future King and Queen. After attending their wedding in 2011, he has maintained a close relationship with the pair and their family.

Although the 58-year-old’s appearance fee for the show is being kept under wraps, he is reportedly making “good money” doing the competition show, and is one of the first names to sign on for the new season, which will launch in March.

Goldsmith has caught heat for his controversial party habits in the past. In 2009, he was caught preparing lines of cocaine for a sex worker at an Ibiza party. Eight years later, he was found guilty of domestic violence after he hit his fourth wife.
